    That was Beni's ball the whole way. It was a long run but the play was there to be made. He's really struggling and its hard to watch.

    All hitters have rough patches. It's just baseball. Did you watch the game last night though? He looks like he has just lost his desire to play the game to me. I'm not saying that you should be jumping for joy after you K but he just looks depressed out there. The coaching staff needs to get a hold of him and get him back on track mentally. Although, he could shorten up the swing just a tad. We'll see if his approach changes at all tonight.

    That isn't that great for HIM. I am eager to see him go on like a month long tear some time after the break. He is fully capable of it as we all know. Pound for pound he's the best hitter on the team.

    Not trying to rag on the kid. We are all thankful for his effort last year. No denying it. But jeez... Beni looks absolutely lost at the plate right now. Kind of dejected as well. Hitting coaches where are you? Have they been strictly focusing on JBJ recently? Can't argue with the results though! Love me some JBJ. But yeah... Mr. Bogart has been sensational this season. He is on pace to shatter his HR, 2B and BB season highs. Hope he keeps it up. Go X-man!

    I wouldn't lump Devers in with someone like Rodgers just yet, but I agree with the "popularity contest" nonsense. Let's just make sure our core guys stay healthy. That's what is really important.. no setbacks.

    You asked? Here it is. The biggest star in Hollywood history needs his own performance thread! But jokes aside.. Bogart has been the most consistent hitter that the Red Sox have had this season. His stats thru 82 games speak for themselves and when the SOX need a clutch hit.. he has delivered more than his share this year. He (along with Rafael) has been a lot of fun to watch. 2B 28 HR 16 AVG .301 RBI 58 BB 49 SLG .541 OPS .933

    I may be in the minority on here but this sort of thing never bothered me as a fan. The players most likely feel much differently. Oh I know how it's fun and about tradition and respect. I would just hate to see that respect turn into a ridiculous injury for no reason whatsoever. These kids try to show off sometimes. To borrow a Magic Johnson term.. It's "Showtime" right? I used to love the MLB all star games/HR derby as a kid. Now I see it as almost a hurdle until the regular season resumes. It's nice that Bogart got some recognition though. well deserved.. But as far as I know, Devers didn't make it which is absurd.

    Cora is one cynical bastard. How long will he continue to have Beni bat in anything but the 9th slot? Not only is Benintendi not seeing the ball well, his body language suggests that it's hopeless.
