The productive performance extended his hitting streak to eight games, during which he has batted .529 (18-for-34) with 11 runs batted in. He is currently .331/.382/.554 on the season with 15 home runs, 59 RBI and 66 runs scored.

So among this seasons leaders in blown saves we have the Mariners, Mets & Red Sox. Something to root for.

It’s fun to compare Bryce Harper’s stats to Rafi’s this season. Rafi’s BA is .80 higher than that of a player with a 330 million dollar contract. I do not expect much of a drop off from Devers this year. He is hitting breaking pitches, fastballs, cutters... you name it. He’s handling off speed stuff like a 10 year vet right now.

You’re comparing a player from the 60s-70s era, one of the toughest players to ever play the game to Mookie Betts. Articles have been written on how particularly tough Carl was.. even for that era. To compare him to Betts as a reference point is not really fair to Mookie.

Mookie is 5’9”. Yastrzemski was 6’0”.. give or take.

and that’s the right attitude to have imo. JBJ is probably my favorite player on the squad but if the right opportunity arises.. the front of the jersey will always trump the back of it.

It’s entirely possible that this team will make a run and then make the WC.. it’s possible that they will WIN the WC game... to only get ripped to shreds in the divisional series. This roster has too many things going in the wrong direction and I don’t see an internal fix. One night it’s the pen. If it’s not the pen, it’s the SP. Other nights it’s both. Factor in Beni, JDM and Mookie having down years and it’s just too much to overturn. Sale, Porcello, ERod & Price. Price is the only one who has shown a high level of consistency this year. People rave and cheer for Sale because he threw two perfect innings this season. Why should anybody care if he is throwing 30 pitches an inning vS the likes of the Blue Jays? Some of you are still trying to put this jigsaw puzzle together for 2019 because your heart tells you that it can be done. Listen to your mind instead. If this team does the right things this & next year, we can look forward to many post seasons and another WS in the near future. Sometimes tough and unpopular decisions need to be made.

I have him ranked higher than Favre. But we’re digressing here. He’s at the bottom of the top ten all time imo. It wasn’t just the D last year. He was consistently missing on throws routine throws.

+1 Move Mookie & Beni.. load up the farm system and plan for 2021. Get a legit power hitting first baseman and some relief pitching. We have shortstop and third base on lock. I would also talk to JD’s people and see where they’re at. Make no mistake about it though. This season is over. I’m on to 2020 at this point.
