  1. Even Kike comes alive. Now 1 more, at least a long fly ball
  2. Arroyo gets a hit, thankfully, so with 2 on , no outs, a reliever coming in, I would take all odds that Plawecki will try to bunt the runners over in a 2-0 game.
  3. You saw no urgency from yhe front office or ownership's backing to address team needs overall. Part of the transition to a capital efficient team
  4. Run support in the presence of good to great pitching is a disappointing weak link from this bunch
  5. I was addressing the "Starting Rotation Thread" topic . The 4 WS wins are not only acknowledged but much appreciated. No other 21st century team has achieved that mark. But it doesn't say much about the 2022 starting rotation , as most of the pitching contributions to that very nice run were from bought and paid for FA's, not drafted/developed pitching. It would have been off topic to put 2022's record through 10% of the season on the hitters .
  6. Isn't the core of the answer to the Red Sox starting pitching ( vs. budget) the ultimate failure to draft and develop , within 3-4 years, starters capable of being a #2-#4 inning eater who is on a club controlled pre-arb/arb basis? Who was the last one , Buch/ Lester(?), maybe you can count Erod in a small stretch. Better yet, who is the next one to come up through this system ? Whitlock was a NYY gift , much appreciated. Houck is a candidate if they can ever figure out which role he should be in , and if he can go more than 4 innings. Don't strain yourself trying to figure out how they got to this position. Basically a 15-20 year failure to develop reliable arms .
  7. I'm glad for Rich Hill to still be pitching at 42 years old, and the Sox actually need him until Frail and maybe Paxton show up in a useful capacity, BUT watching Rich deliver the ball just reminds me of a beer league softball pitcher lobbing it up there, albeit with some spin
  8. Said it yesterday, now will be redundant. Story's throw including that last off balance one that Dalbec saved are a real concern
  9. Story's throws are becoming a concern. That was the win right there
  10. Glad to see that hit for BD, and the run for the Sox
  11. Don't let the leadoff walk determine this game
  12. This would not be a game to be on the losing end of 1-0. Much better to let the Rays rationalize that defeat as in, "It's still early, doesn't matter"
  13. The point of Travis Shaw is that Bloom has a belief in humanity that transcends reality
  14. N.F.L. ---not for long, probably need to consider the moving of some parts in conjunction with the May 2 man cutdown. Meanwhile the BP has been superb so far
  15. Here's some cred, Sox no hit through 6 in a BP game . They are near Ft. Myers, how about an ST redo to get the bats ready.
  16. That double breaks up the double no-hitter.
  17. Dalbec is trapped in the Twilight Zone, HP calls are wrong on him leading him to chase further . OPS in the mid .400s. Tough situation
  18. Well, Bogey has vertical range and saved a run or two there
  19. It's the Trop where all reality is suspended
  20. If Shaw did not have bad luck, he would have none, kinda like his BA
  21. Important win despite the fact that it is still early, lol
  22. Devers, Bogey, JDM, Dugo, Dalbec combined are 1 for 16. The BP needs to save it NOW !
