  1. The reason it's called good pitching is because nobody is consistently hitting good pitching.
  2. I remember the SOX teams that would cause opposing pitchers to have high pitch counts consistently; this isn't one of them, so far.
  3. If only to see Kim Novak, it's worth it.
  4. Perfect relay. Murphy stopped to have his tires checked.
  5. Doesn't hurt to ask. Btw, Thunder, if one posts in italics, that's the secret sign that it's sarcasm.
  6. I certainly hope that was sarcasm.
  7. That looked like payback.
  8. VERTIGO was definitely Hitchcock's weirdest movie.
  9. No reason to let Richards start the 7th. A quality start and a big boost to his confidence.
  10. Verdugo has been swinging lately as if he has vertigo.
  11. MC HAMMER. Can the SOX have a hammer leading off? Why not?
  12. Yup, I remember when Joba portrayed the Swamp Beast in Cleveland.
  13. They should have let Honda pinch hit. More reliable.
  14. Well, I did look it up. It was Joba The Hut.
  15. I wonder if Renfroe has a permit for that gun?
  16. No doubt about that. As a fan I loved the game more when the players were playing for their jobs and salaries each year. As a player, I would love long-term contracts. So what was good for the players was, imho, bad for the fans.
  17. Who was that Yankem pitcher who kept throwing at Youk's head? I'm too lazy to look it up.
  18. Back in the days before long-term contracts, when most players were on one-year contracts, baseball was a much meaner and brutal game. Not a whole lot of fraternizing with the opposition. I still never understood throwing at the batter who happened to be batting after the guy who hit the dinger.
  19. Yeah, but then the bases are loaded.
  20. True, but leaning in to get hit by pitch is completely bush. Something that A-roid used to do a lot.
  21. That was old school. Sal Maglie and Drysdale made a living with those 'close shaves.'
  22. Richards has a little mean streak in him.
  23. Gibson would have already thrown one around his head area.
  24. It's ironic that about 6 years ago Richards was one of the best pitchers in the game until he severely injured his leg covering 1st base here at Fenway.
  25. Richards has nasty stuff and as his confidence rises after each start, his stuff will be even nastier.
