  1. For the remaining games the Sox didn't score in double digits their average runs per game is 3.5.
  2. Most everything positive about the Sox offensive stats rests heavily on their 19 games of 10 runs or more.
  3. Instead of all the fancy drawings on the bats, the Sox should have put some fancy cork inside the bats.
  4. Just looking back at the Sox previous recent history. Hopefully, this season won't be a case of history repeating itself like it has the previous two seasons.
  5. This is true. I believe this would be a low(no pun intended)risk gamble. Lowe's owed around 2.5 million for the remainder of the season. I say go for it.
  6. Don't know much, but I do know that players are usually not DFA'd because they're performing well.
  7. The Sox are back home against an under .500 team and it's mid August. What could possibly go wrong?
  8. Seattle just lost the 3 game series against a mediocre O's team on the road 1-2. At least the Sox lose their 3 game series to good teams on the road.
  9. This is true. Good pitching beats all kinds of hitting. However, the Sox hitting philosophy of swing hard in case you hit it does make it easier for the better pitchers in the league to dominate them.
  10. I do look at stats. For example the stats tell me the Sox lead MLB in errors. My eyes tell me the Sox are strong defensively except for 1st base.
  11. Watching as many games as you can will keep you better educated about this team than looking at a bunch of stats. My eye test tells me that this team is weak on timely hitting, weak on not chasing bad pitches, weak on putting the ball in play (too many K's)and having only one starter you feel good about. This being said I guess we all should be happy (surprised)the Sox are still in the PO hunt. PS: The Sox BP has been better than expected.
  12. 19 games with 10 or more runs scored can make looking at total runs for the season misleading . Like I posted earlier the Dodgers lead MLB in runs scored and have only had 5 games where they scored 10 or more runs.
  13. Cora should allow Romy to play 1st for the remainder of the season.
  14. I believe when a manager gets 5 good innings from a mediocre starter, he should consider himself lucky and close that pitcher down
  15. 4 walks and a HR. 24 hours later 3K's. Baseball doesn't give one much time to feel good about one's self.
