  1. I'm guessing they'll bring up MC to replace Arroyo, but I like your thinking.
  2. I'm hoping Cora can forget about 2018 and start managing with brains and not hunches.
  3. I have no idea, but it could be another Cora hunch that failed.
  4. Speaking of SOX world series; from 1946-1986 the SOX lost 4 WS and every one of them went 7 games. What's the odds of that happening. Maybe it was truly a curse.
  5. That is correct. Ted Williams was also hit in the arm by a pitch right before the 1946 WS. Ted underperformed in that WS, but he never used his arm injury as an excuse.
  6. 1975. The 'gold-dust twins' and the last year before everything changed in the business of baseball. Charlie Finley saw it coming and bailed.
  7. Before that in '75 he was injured right before the PO's and wasn't able to play in any of the games. That really sucked.
  8. When one sees how easy it is to get injured in sports, it just makes Cal Ripken's consecutive game streak even more unbelievable.
  9. That the SOX are in 1st place in late June with this starting 5 is miraculous.
  10. A fastball with no movement in MLB is called batting practice.
  11. The SOX have been bucking the odds all season, so far. Bad starting pitching will eventually catch up to a team. Throw in some bad defense and it's a recipe for disaster. The SOX offense has provided a smoke screen for the SOX starters, but that's not sustainable.
  12. No reason to bring EO out in the 4th. He's exhausted and the game is still winnable.
  13. Minor made a major mistake against Kike. Let's hope he can make some more.
  14. Mondesi, another ballplayer who would be a rocket scientist if he wasn't playing baseball.
  15. I've been hearing lately that the Rays, who lost their #1 pitcher, are definitely interested and they do have the prospects. If we can't get him, I just hope it isn't an AL East team other than the O's.
  16. Probably, but as usual the top SOX prospects are non-pitchers. Look, I'm just saying that this season could still be considered a rebuilding year with no chance of reaching the WS with the starters the SOX currently have, or the SOX can do something to improve the odds and try to make a run for it. Scherzer is still an ACE pitcher.
  17. Mr Moon, If Scherzer is available for a trade, should Bloom make an offer to obtain him? There's no guarantee how Sale will perform when he comes back.
