  1. In baseball it's not 'what a difference a day makes;' instead it's 'what a difference a pitcher makes.'
  2. One question; why was Valdez pitching the 9th with a 19 run lead? Cora has both Robles and Davis who would have been much more suited to clean-up duty. Hopefully, this doesn't destroy Valdez's confidence going forward. One of the dumbest moves I've seen a manager do in years. Cora may be the most lovable, but he's certainly not the smartest tool in the box.
  3. Too bad the SOX aren't involved in that Field of Dreams game; they could pick up Jimmy Foxx and Walter Johnson.
  4. Can Buck pitch or play first? If so, UPS his ass to the SOX pronto.
  5. The SOX are like a magician whose magic has stopped working more than half-way thru his act. All he has left is a smile and a nice tuxedo.
  6. You'll be seeing a 3rd next Tuesday.
  7. The strike out or that he's coming back?
  8. A disgusting at bat by the guy who will be back next season.
  9. I'm just tired of this blaming VAZ for what is the worst starting rotation in the AL. Well, maybe not the worst in the AL, but definitely the worst among teams over .500.
  10. In fact, once VAZ is gone I expect Bloom to extend Richards' contract. Damn, if Bloom or Cora had noticed earlier that VAZ was the problem, the SOX would be, at least, 10 games ahead in 1st place.
  11. It's already been determined that VAZ is the problem regarding SOX pitching. He's been asked very nicely to leave the premises.
  12. Playoffs? You're talking about the playoffs? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  13. Like OB mentioned earlier, the Rays have scored more runs than any team in history with a team batting average in the .230's.
  14. The Rays batters stay within themselves, make contact with the ball, and produce tons of timely hits. The SOX? Not so much.
  15. That may be the biggest understatement of the season, so far.
  16. Cora, knowing E-rod's history in the 6th, probably would have liked to start the inning with SAW, but how do you pull E-rod when he only gave up 1 run after 5, without a ton of 2nd guessing?
  17. i was thinking the same thing, because E-rod usually has good 6th innings.
  18. When it comes to dingers, the Green Monster giveth and taketh away, but that triangle usually just taketh away.
  19. Not to take away anything from JD's great April, but since then, I'm guessing Renfroe has had more timely hits than JD.
  20. Got to give credit to Bloom for acquiring Renfroe.
  21. Speaking of Bill; maybe the best SOX player, who gets spoken about the least.
  22. Bill Mueller hit a couple off of Mo.
  23. One question though; if VAZ sucks, why was the SOX BP above average? Doesn't VAZ also catch the relievers?
  24. So if the SOX get rid of VAZ, Bloom can keep this starting rotation next season, because it was all the catcher's fault. And all this time I thought our starting pitching sucked, when, in reality, it was VAZ who sucked.
