  1. Very true. The SOX have complete control of their destiny for the final 9 games.
  2. Since Barnes was given that extension, he's been piss poor.
  3. Plus Tampa would like to retain having the best record in the AL because Houston is only 2 games behind them in the loss column.
  4. A team can never have too many good arms in the pen, especially since Barnes has done a complete nose dive.
  5. I agree that there's no way the SOX would have both JD and Schwarber on the team next season. Dalbec's immense improvement at 1st just adds to the improbability like you stated.
  6. Even if JD remains on the team and Schwarber isn't re-signed, the SOX will still have enough offense. Sale and EO will need some consistent help in the starting rotation. Starting pitching is the main reason the SOX aren't leading the AL East. And as I have posted before, it would be great if both Houck and Whitlock pitched out of the BP.
  7. Those are called intangibles that are rarely publicized. I posted yesterday the intangibles that Bogey also provides for the SOX. Sometimes it's more than just what happens on the field.
  8. I trust you more than the MLB network.
  9. Just saw on the Fenway message board that the SOX are 21-3 when JD hits a HR.
  10. I can only see that happening if the SOX can trade JD during the off season. I'm pretty sure Bloom's priority will be pitching.
  11. Regarding Sale. After EO had his second TJ surgery his velocity increased. It will be interesting to see what Sale's consistent velocity will be next season.
  12. From statements credited to Iggy he wants to stay here.
  13. Maybe it's a coincidence, but since Iggy has been an everyday player the SOX have shifted into a higher gear.
  14. I got that stat from MLB network.
  15. Amazing play by Iggy. Hopefully he's back with the SOX next season.
  16. When the Mets are hitting a pitcher this hard, it's rare.
  17. Schwarber owns Walker and the whole Walker family. This is the 7th straight game the SOX have scored 6 or more runs. They haven't done that since 2006.
  18. Best bang for the buck Renfroe.
  19. When Sale came to Boston he was throwing with the same velocity he had in Chicago.
  20. Ron Darling in the Mets' booth stated that Sale's fastball has decreased in velocity and he no longer throws in the high 90's like he did when he was in Chicago. Darling, I guess, was unaware that he was also throwing in the high 90's as a Red Sox. Sadly, living in Central NY, I get the all SOX/Mets games on the Mets' feed.
  21. Hopefully, I'll be starting the game thread Friday and I will post whether the pitcher is RH or LH.
  22. It's makes a little more sense because T.Walker is a RH'r.
  23. Rays leading Jays 6-0 after 3 and a half innings.
