    My take on Betts leaving is that if Betts had stayed, the SOX would not have Dugo and probably not have Renfroe. My question is have the combined outputs of both Dugo and Renfroe better the output the SOX would have gotten from Betts alone? Note: Even had Bloom picked up Renfroe with Betts still on the team, Renfroe's playing time would have been obviously limited.

    What's happening this year in the AL East will probably continue to happen over the next many years. Four well-run organizations that will do what it takes to win. Just expect more of these pressure cooker games in late September for the ongoing future.

    This is what makes baseball, imho, the greatest of the 4 major pro sports. I'm just happy the SOX have home field and I'm also happy the Yankems will still have to play their final 6 against the Rays and the Jays. At least we game threaders will have tomorrow off to get ready for 3 nerve wracking games over the weekend.

    This season will be the 3rd straight season(not counting 2020, which I never do) that the O's will have lost more than 100 games.

    It's interesting that his decline happened right after he was given the extension. He could also be a victim of the outlawed spider tack.

    Btw, the O's and Arizona both have identical records of 48-103. The race for the #1 draft pick.

    Unfortunately, Vegas, a DH can only be used to bat for the pitcher. I'm sure you knew that, but I get what you mean.

    Plus Kike can also play other positions on the field. But in defense of JBJ, he made some of the greatest catches I've ever had the pleasure of seeing by a center fielder.

    Very true. The SOX have complete control of their destiny for the final 9 games.

    Since Barnes was given that extension, he's been piss poor.

    Plus Tampa would like to retain having the best record in the AL because Houston is only 2 games behind them in the loss column.

    A team can never have too many good arms in the pen, especially since Barnes has done a complete nose dive.

    I agree that there's no way the SOX would have both JD and Schwarber on the team next season. Dalbec's immense improvement at 1st just adds to the improbability like you stated.

    Even if JD remains on the team and Schwarber isn't re-signed, the SOX will still have enough offense. Sale and EO will need some consistent help in the starting rotation. Starting pitching is the main reason the SOX aren't leading the AL East. And as I have posted before, it would be great if both Houck and Whitlock pitched out of the BP.
