  1. I believe Pivetta brings intensity to every start. I just hope he has good stuff tonight. 'Calm intensity'? OK, I'll go with that. It does sound like an oxymoron though.
  2. That makes sense. Then 'command' would be throwing strikes w/o employing the middle of the plate. I guess 'command' would also include throwing inside and making the batter uncomfortable.
  3. N.Pivetta(RH) 9-7 4.52ERA vs A.Wells(LH) 1-3 7.61ERA Hopefully, the SOX offense won't make this 7+ ERA clown resemble Sandy Koufax tonight. Go SOX!
  4. I believe 'command' and/or 'control' is the ability to hit the catcher's target more times than not.
  5. Btw, only one team in the NL that year won 90 or more games; The Mets with 97.
  6. In 2006 the Cards ended atop the NL Central with an 83-78 mark. The worst record of any division leader that year. They went on to win the WS.
  7. In the seasons before Sale's TJS, Sale had a habit of wearing down in early to mid-September.
  8. There's no question the SOX starters can handle a one game series.
  9. "Hard To Hande" Black Crowes. Pretty inventive.
  10. I can't help but wonder what Ted Williams' contract would like now of days if he was in his prime.
  11. If the O's win only 1 of 3, that pretty much calculates to their season record.
  12. I'm not sure it's Matt Barnes. I believe he's a victim of body snatching.
  13. 4 solos in two games. The SOX do more solos than Eric Clapton.
  14. I, too, thought Schwarber would be a better start. Ya win some, ya lose some. I'm pretty sure I've lost more than I've won.
  15. Robles has been a pleasant surprise, especially considering what he looked like when he first got here.
  16. Wow! I would have lost on Jeopardy on that one. That may be the most surprising stat I've seen all season.
  17. There's nothing wrong with SOX baserunning that can't be corrected by just putting a base in between the 3 bases.
  18. A quality start by EO. iF I had to guess, EO probably has 95% of the QS for the SOX.
  19. Just as W/L is a misleading stat for starters, ERA is a misleading stat for relievers.
  20. I wish, but it will take someone a lot better. Unfortunately, the SOX farm isn't exactly loaded.
  21. EO has been a rock this season. W/O him, the season would have been over weeks ago.
  22. To be accurate the two pitches he's hit tonight were hanging mistakes. But it's good that he can still hit mistakes.
  23. Here's an offer the O's can refuse. Bobby Dee and a top prospect for Mountcastle.
  24. EO had a 9-5 record at the ASB. He is now 10-9. Since the ASB, the SOX have refused to give the man hardly any runs.
  25. I'm guessing little league.
