  1. I very seldom watch Braves' games so I'm not familiar with Freeman's approach at the plate. We SOX fans all know that Bogey has a tendency to hardly ever swing at the 1st pitch. I'm wondering if Freeman also has that reputation causing Hader to groove a fastball down the middle?
  2. Yesterday, Hader, who I believe is the best reliever in MLB, faced Freeman, who is one of the best hitters in MLB. The best against the best. Freeman guessed fastball on the 1st pitch and the rest is history. Tough loss for the Brew Crew, but a great win for the Braves. If Hader can give up a game-winning homer, then all relievers in MLB are vulnerable.
  3. The best city in Texas, imho.
  4. I agree. Schwarber is the kind of personality that bodes well for having a winning team. He keeps everyone loose and the former linebacker has a good approach at the plate. He can also hit HR's. What's not to like? That was rhetorical, Old Red. You don't have to respond.
  5. According to the results of the regular season, the SOX have already beaten the best team in the AL. With that being said I believe the SOX should have a pretty good shot at beating the 2nd best team.
  6. Cash did something last night that I thought was a head scratcher. If he had planned on using McClanahan, why didn't Cash have him start, which is what McClanahan is used to doing. Having a rookie starter come into the game in the 3rd inning is mentally different than starting the game. Oh, well, it definitely worked well for the SOX, but it was still a puzzling move by Cash.
  7. Well said. Btw, I 'cracked' a hell of a lot more than you did this season. Be proud that you never gave up on this team. Most of us did. See ya Friday.
  8. I would think it would be EO.
  9. Gabe Kapler(player on 2004 WC) vs Cora(player on 2007 WC). Plus it would also include YAZ's grandson playing in Fenway. Finally, it would pit two teams that have had 7 WC's since 2004.
  10. The ALCS begins on Friday. Magnifies even more the importance of winning tonight.
  11. I respect what the Rays did this season. They went down fighting, which was to be expected. It's not the players' fault that they play their games in a circus tent or in front of the worst fans in MLB. The SOX beat the best team in the AL and, for that, we should just say "job well done and best of luck the rest of the way." What a long strange ride this season has been. I doubt any of us will ever see its like again.
  12. White Sox vs Red Sox. Seems like it's meant to be.
  13. I had already posted after the SOX beat the Yankems in the play-in that MOON was the best SOX fan I've ever known.
  14. Here's hoping the Astros/White Sox series goes 5.
  15. That's why I said 'at least.' Any team can be beaten if the ball bounces right.
  16. More bad news: The Yankems have Cole for 7 more years. f*** 'em.
  17. At the worst I have at least 4 more SOX games to watch. Btw, the Rays' fans don't deserve a championship and they probably don't care.
  18. Analytics: Odds are better if RH pitcher faces RH batter.
  19. One-armed MVP? Dr Richard Kimball is still looking for him.
  20. Hero of the game again was a reliever, Whitlock.
  21. Fantastic. Kike is the MAN!
  22. Rays defense has disappeared.
  23. Who do I trust in the BP? I've got it down to Whitty, Pivvy, and Houck. And Taylor.
  24. Whitlock forever or until the SOX win.
