  1. I guess alternate nicknames could have been LOBSTERS, BEANS, GREEN MONSTERS,and REVERES. whatever. Can anyone think of other potential nicknames?
  2. I agree 100%. That was the whole point of my half-baked post. It would be advantageous for the Angels to trade Ohtani and get something than have him walk at the end of the season and get nothing.
  3. My thought was that by trading Judge would free up money for the Yankems to re-sign Ohtani for whatever years. Also, the 200 million the Angels would save by obtaining Judge would help them financially. Of course, the other option for the Angels is to keep Ohtani and unload Trout. Good luck with unloading oft injured Trout.
  4. Here's a question for you, Notin. Could you see the Yankems trading Judge to the Angels for Ohtani? Obviously, Judge would have to be off the IL before the TDL.
  5. Not really. Just responding to the post about moving Pivetta back to starting.
  6. SOX are taking a serious look at Michael Lorenzen of the Tigers. He's started 16 games and his ERA is 3.75 with a WHIP of 1.13. His remaining contract amount is a little over 4 mil, which would still keep the SOX under the luxury tax. Stay tuned. Btw, Lorenzen also has 6 years of experience as a reliever. His lifetime BP ERA is 3.63. Seems like those tires should be kicked.
  7. Pivetta took the express elevator from the outhouse to the penthouse.
  8. Since he's been with the SOX he's always been available when it was his turn. That is amazing nowadays.
  9. He's definitely the closest thing to a 'rubber arm' that the SOX have.
  10. In my life I've been DFA'd a couple times.
  11. He was DFA'd, which is a polite term for being fired.
  12. The record now belongs to Nick.
  13. Pivetta just tied the record for most strike outs by a SOX reliever at 12.
  14. Why? The SOX don't have an over abundance of pitching as it is and he's been awesome in the pen.
  15. Well, unless Bloom wants to trade prospects, the players Bloom wouldn't mind trading don't have much value.
  16. The hardest thing about baseball is hitting a round ball with a round bat. Imho, the 2nd hardest thing is not swearing at the HP chUMP after many bad calls and then getting tossed. For the most part the inept work of HP chUMPS has been an embarrassment to baseball.
  17. The Dodgers' were nice to the SOX by not re-signing both Turner and Martin.
  18. That is correct, sir. Blackburn would be a good pick-up. Think the A's would have any interest in Kike, even if the SOX ate 75% of his remaining salary?
  19. Actually, Pivetta's BP ERA is under 2 and his WHIP is under 1. He didn't do that just against the terrible A's.
  20. I like Sears much better, but he's probably untouchable.
  21. O's and Rays both lost earlier. A SOX win tonight moves them to 8 games back of 1st.
  22. Regarding MLB's top 100 prospects, the SOX have two. Mayer(SS) at #4 and Rafaela(OF) at #73.
  23. Good job by Bernardino. He's been a very pleasant surprise so far this season.
  24. The only thing that makes me a little antsy about tonight's game is it's on the west coast. For SOX fans no further explanation is required.
