I believe the shelf life on D. Smith has expired.
  2. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Rafaela has been in a coma on the bases lately.
  3. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Picking up other people's throw aways at Goodwill doesn't make one a buyer. The SOX FO would be be better off selling.
  4. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
O'Neill has a .224BA with RISP. Which is slightly lower than Devers' .228.
  5. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Then selling Kenley and O'Neill s/b a no brainer.
  6. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Rodon has pitched left-handed. That's all he has to do to beat SOX.
  7. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
ESPN, stick to what you do best, which is practically nothing, and FOX, stick to bad TV shows.

They had a beautiful afternoon to play this game, but because baseball(like everything else) is all about money, they played it at night knowing there was rain in the forecast.
  9. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Cora is smart enough to know that even a tired Houck is better than what's in the BP.
  10. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Even if they win, that might be a good idea.
  11. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If the SOX lose tonight, the FO still has until 6PM Tuesday to sell Kenley and O'Neill. There's no way to fix the pitching problems on this team, so this is the best time to get the most for those two.
  12. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Well. at least until his next start.
  13. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Having this game on ESPN just adds to the hell.
  14. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I guess Criswell is the SOX ACE now.
  15. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
SOX picked up a DFA from the Dodgers. He's Yohan Ramirez, A RH reliever who sports a 5.97 ERA in 32 games this season. Breslow says "I've gotten you a starter, a RH bat and a reliever. No excuses now. Go get 'em boys!'
  16. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Snell K'd 15 Rockies in 6 innings today. A new record for most K's in 6 innings or less. I wonder if that was the same Rockies' team the SOX just played?

The following is so obvious that even Capt Obvious says it's obvious. Houck needs to have an excellent start. He needs to go 7 innings. With this SOX BP I almost wanted to post Houck has to go 9.

The SOX FO kept their word and acquired a RH batter. The FO never said they were going after a RH hitter.
  19. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Fun facts: The Giants have the most HOF players in the history of MLB. Followed by the Braves and Dodgers. I would have guessed the Yankems. The SOX are tied for 3rd with the A's for most WS titles(9). Yankems(27) and Cards(11).
  20. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
That explains O'Neill's 20+ HR'S and low number of RBI.
  21. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
My view is keep the top prospects and go the O's route to winning. The SOX, same as the Yankems, aren't gonna win the WS this year. So just enjoy the rest of the season and then go gangbusters next season. If the SOX don't make major additions in the offseason, then Fk 'em.
  22. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Seriously, if the FO is determined not to trade their top 4 prospects, what major trade can the SOX expect to make? I doubt this TDL will be much different than the previous two seasons.
  23. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Besides the shite pitching, another stat I saw tonight is disturbing. Devers is batting .236 with RISP. So this proves my eyes weren't deceiving me.
  24. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Maybe the FO needs to find a different Goodwill.
  25. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Unless the pitching changes drastically, there will be many more losses similar to what we've seen recently.
