You're right. BA isn't everything; Dugo also plays a very good defensive RF. Calling Dugo's 1st 3 years with the SOX 'very average' tells me someone doesn't know the definition of average.
At this point Cora should let Casas and Duran stay in the line-up no matter who is pitching for the opposition. They're not gonna improve against lefties unless they face them.
For those who believe the only way things will change is if fans stop going to the games, let me put it this way. If this current team can not empty Fenway, then nothing will.
Like I've posted before, there must be buyers for a team to be a seller. P.T. Barnum once said if someone nailed two pieces of wood together, someone else would buy it. Fortunately for the SOX FO this is still true.
Self-destruct. Walks and errors are just as effective as base hits. Cora looked really pissed heading towards the mound. It'll be awhile before 2018 strikes again. I mean a long while.
This same holds true that weak batters should at least be proficient in laying down a bunt, whether to move a runner or going for a base hit.Again, this could also be partly the fault of coaching.
Players with speed like Duran and Hamilton should be proficient in sliding feet first. The coaching could be at fault for not stressing the positives of sliding feet first when stealing a base.
