So to rehash the unimportance of defense you're saying it's just as easy for a pitcher to get 4 outs in an inning as 3 outs. And the additional pitch count means nothing. Got it. Can't argue with that.
Based on the state of SOX pitching, both starters and relievers, based on their defense, or lack of, based on their untimely hitting, and based on their remaining schedule, imho, it would take a minor miracle for them to finish the season over .500.
Actually, I've accepted the fact that Devers is what he is defensively. It's this long streak of clutchless(not a word, but I like it)at bats that pisses me off. He's supposed to be the offensive driver of this club, but when he's been really needed, he's just been a passenger.
