  1. The difference between the SOX finishing 4th or 5th in the AL East this season may depend on the SOX inability to beat the Rays.
  2. 'Keep the line moving' would be highly unlikely with this current line-up.
  3. In this era of pitch counts that was a very good at bat by Rafaela.
  4. Kutter's been hitting the sweet spot of the Rays' bats.
  5. Following the almost catch yesterday.
  6. Rafaela reminds me a lot, both physically and the way he covers CF, of Paul Blair, who manned CF for the O's. That's about as good a compliment one could give to a CF.
  7. Btw, the only good thing I can say about the BRUINS in these PO's is Jeremy Swayman. No goalie in recent memory has gotten less defensive support in these PO's, and yet he's near the top in goalie stats among PO goalies.
  8. Isn't the cliche "pitching and defense win championships'' still valid? I guess having a respectable offense was implied. Anyway, the SOX have two of the three ingredients necessary.
  9. Eflin(RH) vs Crawford Duran Abreu Wong Devers O'Neill(DH) Smith Grissom Gonzalez Rafaela Maybe some SOX offense will show up tonight; maybe not. Eflin's not a bad pitcher. SOX starting pitching has been consistently good. Andrew Bailey has had a lot to do with that. His success with the Giants was no fluke. Go SOX!
  10. Nice play. As the defense gets better, the offense gets worse. Interesting.
  11. So far, Robles has been the SOX most productive player.
  12. I doubt one will see worse base running by an opponent the rest of the season.
  13. Come for the starting pitching; try to stay awake for the offense.
  14. That either of these teams going into the 40th game of the season is hovering around .500 is equally amazing.
  15. SOX have yet to play the Yankems. I guess the league wants to drag out the suspense.
  16. Good to know that Devers' defense has improved.
  17. I'm guessing the Nats' manager is using the word 'mother' not in a Mother's Day kind of way.
  18. So referring to Youk as Capt Obvious is a yes.
  19. To say the Nats have been helpful would be the ultimate understatement. Both in the field and on the bases. Thank you.
  20. Where's those balks and wild pitches when the SOX need them?
  21. Would I be in the wrong if I referred to Youk as Capt. Obvious? Would we have known that was a bad throw to 2nd if Youk hadn't told us?
