  1. As I've already posted walking Soto was the right move. Don't change your position when you're absolutely correct.
  2. I believe what dgale posted was the right move. I credit dgale that his brain was still functioning in the 10th. Both my brain and Cora's had already stopped functioning.
  3. That makes sense, and I feel stupid not even thinking of that. I guess Cora and I are just plain stupid. BTW, a couple of weeks ago Cora made a statement that he was gonna manage the last games of the season as if they were PO games. Tonight didn't look like PO managing.
  4. Funny, I've seen nothing in Devers' swings or defense that display a sore shoulder(s). What I have seen is that he stunk offensively in the last month of last season, also. I'm not saying he isn't a little banged up, but 90% of everyday players are banged up at this time of the season.
  5. If I was to give this SOX team a nickname for this season, Special K's would be as good as any.
  6. I agree. He kind of plays chess with the batters.
  7. Speaking of Ratso, it must be embarrassing for him to be batting 8th.
  8. I'm surprised Ratso didn't stick his head in front of that pitch.
  9. A very fine job by Criswell. Striking out the albatross Stanton just made me like him more.
  10. One of the morons in the FOX booth described the Yankems as an explosive line-up. What they actually have is Soto Judge and the 7 Dwarves.
  11. JH spent a lot of money for Devers, Story & Gio. Not much bang for the buck.
  12. This reminds so much of how Devers finished last season.
  13. One thing I failed to mention is that pitchers make mistakes; whether it's a grooved fastball or a hanging breaking pitch. Many times the pitcher is punished for his mistake. IMHO, no one on the SOX hits mistakes better than O'Neill and Rafaela.
  14. Last night there was a discussion here about whether Rafaela was Major League ready. Here's my take. The discussion was based on Rafaela's propensity to chase pitches way outside the strike zone. This has been obvious most of the season, so I'm not gonna argue that. However, Rafaela leads all Major Leaguers in total RBI from the #9 spot in the line-up. He also leads all AL rookies in RBI. Rafaela is batting over .250. So, the argument that Rafaela is not ML ready is utterly ridiculous and I haven't even discussed his top-shelf defense. Btw, at this point in the season I'd rather see Rafaela at the plate with RISP than Devers.
  15. Suarez hasn't thrown any hangers to O'Neill, so far.
  16. I really wish some MLB team would hire Youk as a coach. Can anyone guess why I wish this?
  17. To paraphrase a couple lines from the excellent movie UNFORGIVEN: SOX: "We don't deserve to be in the PO's." MLB: "Deserves has nothing to do with it."
  18. Homer Crawford has given up more dingers than any SOX player has hit.
