Rip Torn would have been proud of the 1st base coach's dodging ability.
  2. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Damn Bundy faked JD out of his shoes.

Holt is hitting over .300 and is a LH batter. It makes no sense to have Holt in the line-up instead of Nunez. Holt is also a better fielding 2nd baseman than Nunez, so Nunez is the optimal choice. I'm sure Holt would also agree with this.

Only if the argument was about physics. You'd win that argument if it concerned baseball.

Since the 17-2 start, the SOX are 27-20. The 27-20 is probably more indicative of what the SOX really are.

Thanks for the help; we need it.

    Or an unintentional intentional walk.
  8. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
That was an intentional unintentional walk.
  9. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    One more hitter. C'mon, JD.
  10. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
The SOX have two more hitters to tie or win this game.
  11. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
That's the Andrew pull we all know and love.
  12. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Until he stops hitting, Holt s/b in the line-up everyday.
  13. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I don't think Holt should be thrown under the bus with the rest of those slugs.

That day-to day injury to Betts has been upgraded to month-to month.
  15. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    Didn't see that pop-up coming.
  16. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
    That will raise JBJ's OBP.
  17. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Is that the longest single in the history of Fenway?
  18. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Hell, if Betts can laugh thru this embarrassment, why are the rest of us taking it so seriously/

5-9 isn't a 'black hole.' 5-9 is the Grand Canyon.

I was hoping POR would go at least 7 today. His pitch count right now makes that highly unlikely.
  21. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Good point. Andrew seems to have fallen in love with going to the opposite field. Ted Williams would be very angry with Beni.
  22. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
He is on pace for a 35 RBI season.
  23. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
From 5-9 Holt is the most dangerous batter..
  24. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I thought Cora and me had an agreement to bat JD third in the line-up for the rest of the season. I guess not. But, I guess, Cora knows best. I guess.
  25. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
So far this season JD reminds me of a sane Manny.
