    There's 30 teams in MLB. It's obvious there's not enough good pitchers to man these 30 teams. It's the same in pro football, basketball, and hockey. Every big city wants a pro team, but the simple truth is there's just not enough talent out there. We SOX fans complain because the SOX are having an issue with a #5 starter. Many teams are lucky to have 2 good starters. The Tigers are a prime example.

    Last year Barnes wouldn't have gotten out of that. He's been a much better reliever this year.

    Whoa there. I don't believe anyone honestly thought Wright would pitch SO ball for 7 innings. I was surprised. I wasn't dissing Wright. In fact, I've been praising his work in the BP for quite awhile.

    I believe in 2006 the Cards won the WS after finishing the season 4 games over .500.

    VAZ handled Wright's knuckler perfectly tonight. Just a great battery performance tonight.

    Swi does give the SOX 3 catchers, which allows Cora the luxury, if he wants, to PH for Leon or VAZ. That Swi can play other positions makes him a good guy to have on the bench.

    There will NEVER be another Vin Scully. Btw, hockey has an excellent play-by-play guy named Doc Emrick. He, like Scully, adds to the enjoyment of the game. It's definitely an art form.

    More surprising than this great performance by Wright is that there was no rain delays.

    Baseball is a visual game. When you go to a game live, there's no announcer telling you what's going on. I usually listen to music while I'm watching the game. When the games are on ESPN or YES, I just turn the music up louder.
