  1. Entrance speed 100mph; exit speed 110mph.
  2. It was an error, but it was a hustle error.
  3. JD had a darn good year last year even with the injury.
  4. Hopefully, Sale will only pitch 5 tonight.
  5. That's the way you do it. Crooked number followed by shut down inning.
  6. I agree. He's my kind of opposing pitcher. I'm sure when I get to like him too much, they'll take him out. They do that a lot.
  7. Sonny Delight is getting shelled again. Jays lead Yankems 5-0 in 2nd.
  8. I remember back in the '90's when your team won 116 games, but didn't even get to the WS. I still think it's safe to say they were the best team in baseball that year. I also remember in 2006 when the Cards were 83-79 and they won the whole thing. It is a crazy game.
  9. Disappointment? We SOX fans have no competition when it comes to disappointment.
  10. Btw, I have a drinking buddy at the local tavern here in Syracuse, NY who is an M's fan. The only M's fan I know here locally. He moved here from Seattle about 15 years ago. Don't know if this has anything to do with him being an M's fan, but he is the most knowledgeable baseball person I've ever met. One cannot stump this guy with baseball trivia. I and some other friends have tried and we have failed miserably.
  11. Harmony, you're a good M's fan. I respect that. But, I believe the A's are for real. They're starting to realize they are in the race.
  12. In fact, didn't that happen a few years ago in the AL East?
  13. Oops, sorry, but that was not a stab to the heart, but a serious blow. After thinking about it, it would be possible for a 3rd place club to make the playoffs.
  14. I do believe that should end that discussion. That was a stab to the heart, Dewey. Nicely done.
  15. If I'm not mistaken, a team has to make it to the WS before it has a chance to win it.
  16. I was hoping to see at least one worse than JBJ .202BA .628OPS To be fair, by the end of the season these stats could be higher. Or not.
  17. The only thing I can post that's not speculation is that for the Yankems and SOX to be tied at the end of the season, one of the teams going into the final 3 game series will either have a 1 game lead or a 3 game lead. Based on that reality there's no way either team will be holding back their best pitcher to pitch in a tie breaker unless, by coincidence, it's his turn in the rotation. But to answer the brain-twister on the original post, I would start Sale in a tie breaker.
  18. Start Price and win? You're asking a lot, Spud.
  19. During the SOX's 3 WS's titles, perhaps the most important player to have made that happen was Ortiz. From what I've read and heard, Pedro was the most important factor in convincing the SOX FO to go after David.
  20. Hey, we're the SOX. Other teams should respect that and just give us their best players for next to nothing.
  21. There are those who still believe Theo walks on water.
  22. When I think of overpaid, I dwell on players like Crawford, Price, Pablo, and Hanley. A pitcher who's given the SOX the success Kimbrel has, I do not consider overpaid.
  23. The SOX could beat a NL team with all their regulars out. If the SOX loved Price, they'd let him pitch against the senior(inferior) circuit and he'd win even with the slop he had against the Yankems.
  24. Makes one want to throw another F you to C.Smith for his self-inflicted injury.
