  1. Breaking News: In the last 100 years of baseball the only team, other than the SOX, to open the season on an 11 game road trip was the 1980 Twins.
  2. I believe the 2 everyday players on the SOX who have the best shot of duplicating their season from last year are JD and VAZ.
  3. Just heard that Bogie got a 6 year extension for 120 million. The 10 better SS's in MLB are licking their lips.
  4. I prefer 'complacent' over 'hangover.'
  5. Not looking for excuses and it is early, but perhaps not having Sandy behind the plate may prove lethal as the season progresses. Nothing against VAZ, but the SOX aren't getting much more offense than they had with Sandy.
  6. I just viewed on the Oakland feed that JD had 358 total bases last year which led MLB. In 1978, before steroids made a mockery of all offensive stats, Jim Rice had over 400 total bases. The first player to do that since DiMaggio had over 400 TB's in '46.
  7. In defense of Cora's babying the starters during spring training, except for Porcello, this is a fragile staff.
  8. It's normal for the hitting to be slightly ahead of the pitching early in the season. However, in the case of the SOX pitching, they're being lapped.
  9. On another subject, I've noticed that 3 of the SOX last 4 WS wins have come with a 1st year manager. Just an intriguing observation.
  10. It's also sad in this modern game of baseball that no one in the SOX dugout, except Bogie, actually showed any emotion about the terrible call. I can still picture a Weaver or a Martin running out on the field and giving the ump hell. Actually, Cora getting thrown out might wake the SOX up.
  11. Price has already had the best start compared to the other 4.
  12. Before video review the f'ing ump could only be wrong once on a close play. Now the turd can be wrong twice.
  13. This is going to be a loooooooong season.
  14. Funny, the best pitching performance, so far, was from the guy many of us doubted the most. I think you know who I'm referring to.
  15. 5-6 would look pretty good at this point.
  16. The Oriholes should have a better shot at that than the SOX.
  17. Maybe they added before the 5th inning.
  18. 2013=WC's 2014=last place. That was one long hangover.
  19. The hardest aspect of baseball is hitting. JD may be the best at that than anyone in MLB.
  20. Last year Cora made a lot of questionable moves, but most of them worked. Let's see how successful those moves will be this year.
