  1. Rick's career ERA is 4.31 and his WHIP is 1.309. These are mediocre at best. The best that can be said about Porcello is his durability. Btw, no starter on the SOX over Rick's time here has had as much run support as he has.
  2. Hard to predict the future, Moon, but if someone asked me if I could only keep one player on the SOX right now, it would definitely be Devers. As far as your question goes, yes I feel Devers will.
  3. May, 2019 will be remembered as the month and year Devers became a force both offensively and defensively. Just unbelievable.
  4. Not a horrible night, but not a quality start either. 10 runs and counting will smoke screen a mediocre pitching performance.
  5. Thanks, Moon. I'd forgotten about Travis. Damn, how many options does Sam have left?
  6. Back in the day when there were only 16 ML teams, it was not unusual for players to spend 4 to 5 years in the minors. Also, back then, if a pitcher's ERA was over 4, he was usually sent back to the minors. I get it that every major city wants a pro baseball team, and baseball is making a lot more money now then then, but it has definitely been detrimental to the quality of the game. Again, this situation is also true for pro football, pro basketball, and pro hockey.
  7. When Moreland and Pearce return, will the SOX option MC Hammer and Marco back to Pawtucket? Obviously, there could be trades made making this question mute. Personally, I'd prefer to keep Hammer with the big club and trade Moreland.
  8. Btw, this is also true in regards to the other 3 major team sports.
  9. Dewey, I believe there's just too many teams and not enough true talent to man these teams. And I'm not just referring to pitching.
  10. Good pitching in MLB presently is as rare as finding a pearl in an oyster.
  11. Devers reminds me of Tina Turner. He never hits the ball easy, he hits it hard. "Rollin' down the river."
  12. Thanks for that info. I did not know that. As much as I like that idea, I very strongly doubt that will be approved by the players' union.
  13. Between the SOX starters and the SOX BP, the '27 Yankems couldn't score enough runs to contend.
  14. Going 5 innings on a continuous basis, imho, is not doing fine.
  15. The 3 expensive starters on the SOX staff haven't aged well.
  16. Realistically, who can the SOX sell? They could sell JD and Beni. If they try to sell Sale and/or Price, the SOX will have to eat a lot of their contracts. Nunez, Leon, Pearce you can't give away. Porcello and Moreland might get the SOX something.
  17. Time for my We're not the Orioles chant.
  18. I guess it's only fitting that JK gets the save.
