    Reggie and his family were not treated very well in Boston. He wanted to leave.

    Another SOX outfielder who had a terrific arm was Reggie Smith. Sandy Koufax was quoted as saying he was jealous of Reggie's arm.

    It was said that Teddy Ballgame never argued with the HP chUMP on a bad call. He would just glance at him. I wonder how Ted would react if the umpiring was as putrid then as it is now?

    The HP umps are the ones in MLB who should be ejected.

    E-Rod is a perfect example of not just employing a pitcher's W/L record when evaluating his strengths and weaknesses. In fact, W/L may be the most deceiving of all pitcher stats.

    One thing about baseball compared to other team sports; one doesn't have to wait too long to get revenge.

    Thanks. The league seems to have a stat for everything; I wonder if they have a stat for that?

    This doesn't really mean a lot, but I seriously doubt any team in the AL East will win 100 games this season. I'm guessing 92-95 will win the East.

    The main difference between a very good hitter and an average hitter is that the very good hitter hits more pitchers' mistakes.

    I was hoping the SOX would get the tying run on another wild pitch. A's pitcher failed to deliver.
