  1. Last 27 games 27 105 19 27 6 0 6 15 14 23 6 0 .257 .342 .486 .827 19 runs 15 RBI's 6 SB 6 HR's Yes. Avg is down. Yes. He had a poor start Yes. He is a dope on the BP's, but has improved significantly Yes. He's just above avg in the OF, but plenty good enough Yes. Like most players he has ups & downs Yes. You should have seen JDM's latest 30 games .264 avg just a few weeks ago while Beni was CARRYING the team Yes!!!! The kid has been, will be, and is an ALL STAR! It's baseball folks. This ain't bowling. p.s. besides the lower avg, those are DAMNED FINE NUMBERS still. YES! His yearly stats ARE ALL-STAR numbers! No! To those who judge offensive production game to game, inning by inning.... NO! We have no f***ing idea what you're talking about.
  2. He'll, if he were to keep this up the rest of the year, we would be ALL SET at the C position!
  3. 17 games 298. .333 .526 .860 3HR's 6 Ron's Not setting the world on fire, but a bright light rising in the East after a VERY LONG and dark April & May.
  4. Check out his last 30 days... Here we go fellas
  5. Thanks all. This s***** game at least got us past any major blow up tonight. At least it bought me a few hours working outside Big talks tomorrow . . . At least it's beautiful on the Cape. * Pretty sad. Mom didn't even recognize the Sagamore, & didn't recognize our house as we were shuffling in. She's only been gone 3 months. Despite all this, we've had a lot of good laughs.
  6. Those stats are select. If you break them down by the month, he is consistently bad for most months, BUT always seems to have 1 good, and 1 great month. He absolutely has very poor head & plate discipline MOST MONTHS. Lately, you again see him keeping his head & shoulders down & through the strike zone. For the life of me, I can not figure out why he loses that, but the FACT is, that it generally takes him several months to lock in, and he loses it again down the stretch? I wish I had time to break it down by the month!
  7. I'm sorry guys, but this is just flat ********. JBJ flat out hasn't been able to read the breaking stuff because he often does not keep his head on the ball. I don't believe he has a great eye for the ball in general??? His swing is not bad, but he swings for the fences on every pitch, with zero adjustments at the plate. In general..... he swings from his arcs, his head and shoulders pull, and he consistently swings over the breaking stuff inside. He misses on the outside heat because his head does not stay on the ball. It hasn't been bad luck, it's s***** plate discipline. Now..... I LIKE JBJ, and refuse to give up on him! I believe he has the tools to be VERY GOOD, and always a GG CF'r!!!! But, I'm not buying into this absurd narrative as of late. As some of you are recently using select power hitting stats, ALL THE OTHER NUMBERS don't lie. Now.... because he's so strong, especially in the legs, but he's no Piker upstairs either, he hits the ball hard!!!! Problem is, he rarely knows where it's going. Inexplicably, he does come onto a 1 month LOCKED IN zone each year. It's perplexing!!! Absolutely perplexing!!! But these excuses are frankly ridiculous. History does not lie! He simply IS NOT the only MLB player with a great swing, good plate discipling, good head discipline, & s***** bad luck. Believing this is like believing in Santa Clause.
  8. f*** it. I'm telling my wife she's taking Ma to the Cape with my brother! I'm driving back to NY & going to the game!!! See you there.... Well . . . . On second thought, if I bring it up, my wife will just say, "FU (she'd say it nicer)! Good idea... I'm going to the game & series. See you on the Cape after it's over." Forgetaboutit! I'm not giving her any ideas. See you on NESN.
  9. I'm in West Springfield MA. Bringing mom back down to the Cape. It's completely overwhelming the level of care needed. About to face a s*** show extraordinaire convincing my dad that they need almost 24 hr care, or she goes back into a full care facility. $20,000 / month. The system is so broken! Can you imagine $20,000 / month, unless you are destitute. Everything will be gone within 5 years, but it's just too hard for ANY 1 person to handle, which has been the case for the past 4 months at my brother's house. So, back to dad's & either he agrees to almost full time care in the house, at least $150,000 / yr., or $240,000 in full care. Dad, as he always does, will insist he is going to do it. It will be a s*** show!! When I took her out of the house in March, it was WWIII. My dad blames me for all of it, but she was on her death bed. Alzheimer's. Dad knows she has Alzheimer's, brain damage, and a good deal of mental illness, but has here to fore insisted that she just won't listen..... Sorry.... venting.., ,, It's just going to be another s*** show convincing him that there are only 2 options..... & None of them good. Convincing a man that everything he worked for his whole life will be gone in 7 years, along with the house..... Fun stuff. :'( But let the fireworks begin this afternoon. Thank GOD for the Sox v. Yankees at 7:00. The one thing that has kept me & Dad from killing each other for 50 years. Yep. Our 'friction' started at about age 5. no really . . .
  10. Nah... just flew into JFK. Gotta find a new living arrangement/ home / caregiver for mom, with Alzheimer's. 3 weeks. Hopefully catch 1 game at Fenway? I'd love to go to NY??? IDK? Maybe??? Doubt I'll have time
  11. Yes. I'm Irish. So calm down! I just wish I was drunk...
  12. I hope to see you all in NY
  13. Great! My f***ing pilot's name is RIP Dougherty! RIP ???? Dougherty???? A dumb f***ing drunk Irishman who is destined to crash with the name RIP. Just great!
  14. Another terrible truth.... I never took a day for any of my kids. It's that good old New England Puritan / stupid Irishman upbringing. I just couldn't do it. I'm sure even my bosses thought I was crazy, but it's tough to get old tapes out of your head. Be the first to work, & last to leave. Always give your all. The boss is the boss.... Even when I've become the boss. Even just 11 years ago, in the age of enlightenment. When only Neanderthals didn't take time off.... I just couldn't do it. If I could do it over Again, I would absolutely taked a week off. Any more, & you're just a pussy. kidding. ... I think??? I don't even know any more, the tapes are so ingrained ....
  15. I'm just wondering if I need to start another Beni-type "Jackie Rising" threads? It worked for Beni.
  16. I feel an awakening from JBJ! Watching him drive that ball over the Monster was awesome! Best case scenario for the Sox is for Jackie to start hitting..... He is too great a CF'r to give up on too easily!
  17. Yes. Congrats! Exciting times!!! Kids are awesome!!! They MAKE your life worth while.... It's kinda great when they start leaving too. 2 down, 1 to go! There is a glimmer of light at the end of that very dark tunnel . . . . Kidding! It really is great! ALL the stages . . . No really... even leaving is good. Just another chapter.
  18. Had to miss the game ... Mookie, JBJ, VAZ, JDM, all go YARD... Price pitches great. 1 run... Damn!!!
  19. Again .... 700 Eastwood seems like a decent guy! Very decent. Jesus! WTF is the big deal here? Some misinterpreted his posts as "convicting Hanley," which he clearly wasn't. What the f*** is the big deal. Sack up & Let this ******** die. Ease the f*** up Francis ! Or is it, Lighten up Francis !
  20. And I'm the one who first posted the prelude to the On The Waterfront, "He coulda....... and somebody, I think 700 finished .... "been a contender." Jesus. The bitching and moaning over a few people implying that Hanley "COULD BE in trouble," is ridiculous. THE F'ing point being, NOBODY outright said, "oh he's f***ing guilty as hell." NOBODY said that. Did some of us wonder if Hanley MIGHT have gotten himself mixed up with some dipshit friend's drug dealing somehow on the periphery? Did we wonder aloud if he was running around with some rich drug dealing fools from his past DR days? We were all speculating on what multiple news sources were saying was a legit investigation? Seems it wasn't, and this Michelle McP... had her head up her are a. Jesus. Let it go. We were wrong to even speculate as to why Hanley was "under investigation." It sounded damned serious, and we were all trying to get our heads around it. This childish gotcha game is nonsense, but if it pumps you up, go for it. I was dead wrong to speculate in any way. Ok... what else? Oh... I'm not wrong about Hanley & Pablo in 2015. I still like Hanley!!! Pablo? Hate him because he became a useless DRAIN on the Sox, and still is. I'll get over it. Let's calm down with the gotcha "you lied" ********. Perhaps someone was imprecise in their verbiage, and YOU incorrectly jumped on an inference. That nonsense could go on all day, back & forth. It's ridiculous and childish. Can we move on?
  21. Only 2M! Plus, I really just want to see his wife again!
  22. good to hear Slash. No hard feelings. We used to argue about some pretty stupid stuff. A good deal of that was my fault. I enjoyed mixing it up in the old Wild Wild West. We all clearly let it go way over the top. It was nutty. Fun in a way, but nutty in retrospect. As for the two being asked to leave the team early? That is manifest and fact. As for bloodshot eyes? Easy enough to look up. Google Fat Panda hanging on Hanley during batting practice 2015 September. Anyway.... it's all good. Glad Hanley is likely completely in the clear on this crazy story!!
  23. His wife or girlfriend is HOT, & he's a very nice guy if you see him in public. Freely gives his autograph & will chat a bit. Not at all bug-eyed as he always is in front of a camera. For the record, his buddy Porcello is kind of a dismissive dick. LOL :0 Yeh. I'd take him back for 2 million to finish the year.
  24. Launch angle dude. Be it, live it, love it. Chicks dig the long ball, and Beni got big bat. He also has been hitting about .315 for the last 30, and I believe he's right around .300 with the second highest team bop. So, your choke up soliloquy doesn't make much sense. Against tough lefties??? Sure. If behind in the count, I want ALL GUYS, especially JBJ, to shorten up their swing. Hit for contact. Go the other way....
