Come on now! If I'm Vaz, and I finally make solid contact, I'm gonna admire the hell out of that. Fact is, his only mistake was not just walking to 1st, setting up an umbrella & lounge chair, and ordering a tall brewski. Stupid? Yeh. But i almost admiRe his late half hustle?

What is the point? 1. Machado puts us over the limit, so right there tells you it's not going to happen. 2. Devers potential is too much to give up for a great rental. 3. Yes, Machado would be THE PERFECT rental. Good D, great bat. I would BUY HIM on rental for a few months, BUST the cap, & GLADLY spend the money for an almost guaranteed WS run. If you'Re talking about a couple low level guys from the farm???? BUT, I simply wouldn't want to give up this much for a couple month rental. 4. Now.... if somebody could guarantee that we were going to sign Machado long term in FA, move Bogie to 3rd, and make Machado our SS, then I'd be all in. Of coyrse, this would be an impossible guarantee. The kid is going to get A HUGE CONTRACT, and the Sox will not overpay on a situation we already have covered. Suddenly.... or not so suddenly, the Sox have a gaping hole at 2nd.

Swi. .158 Beni has become the All-Star I thought he would! Let's hope he keeps it up!!! He's carrying this team! If our guys don't get it back on track, this team is going to be 1 & done in a Wild Card 1 off. Gotta make a more by the deadline. We desperately need a spark!

Besides. My wife got his autograph in Seattle p.s. Got Sandy & Nunez....., then Barnes, Swi, & Workman Next Bogie, Devers, Holt, What a great group of guys we have. That was all in the Starbucks in their hotel. I stay out of the way. She's way cuter than me. Swi did give me a look though ....

Devers now has 12 HR's & 36 rbi's God he can be frustrating, but the boy is going nowhere. For good reason. Needs daily work with MIke Lowell
