You either vest Hanley or you trade him ,..you can't risk a rift with a brand new manager ....He vests in my opinion .I would sit Hanley down 2 months ago and tell him if he hits he plays and vests if not he will be DFA at the break ....he's not a kid he can handle this reality .

Larry ....what makes Pedey special to me is getting to that ball in the hole left or right of him on a dive getting up swiftly pivoting his body and delivering a strike on time .....Loooooove me some Pedey ....that Pedey is gone now .75 percent Pedey is still better Defensivly than Nuney ....but how long does it last ? A month ? A week ? A day ? I'd trade him the minute he hits a hot streak and never look back ..I know it's cold ...it's time .I hope we never have to see Pedey hurt again that's the dream right ? I wish sometimes I was 10 also ....neither will happen .

Micro fracture surgery .....for any athelete is pretty much the kiss of death for mobility cutting ,jumping ,pivoting like he was use to doing .I love Pedey he's a legend ....his time as an elite player has been over awhile now ...this puts an explanation point on an amazing player and career .

Have to hand it to Dave ...the man absolutely established himself all over again as a GM who will wait until the deal is right and not just bowl over the competition like his long history had shown ...Dave changed his stripes .,evolved .Happy for him .But may turn sour on a dime If he doesn't hit the target .

Ok so let's figure this out then ...I think they need 27 ...how do they free up an additional 6 to 8 million.What shoe drops or several shoes drop the next 24 to 48 hours ??

Yup front load the crap out of it with 3rd year opt out .....many may hate the this but gets it done 27 27 27 opt out clause 25 24 ....total value. 130 gets a damn good power hitter on Ortiz level for 3 years with escalating salaries after next year .....this deal will be looking very good .What we need is 40 plus HR for 3 Maybe 116 to 120 RBi with a 270 ish BA ....keep the man happy with playing LF a few times a month but never RF at Fenway ....need to protect this player from himself ....he's the bat that will Replace Ortiz .
