So I need help with this ....How can we utilize these players ...I don't want opinions on if they deserve to be on the Roster ...I've determined that lol ...help me here ....Blake Swihart ,Sam Travis .No diatribe please about Sam not being deserving I want ideas ...The belief I have is they both can absolutely provide this team with depth and POP. With enough at bats ....Blake to me should be given the 2 catchers spot fire away .There is no negative comment it's all valid just joking .I know Sam is a huge long shot .How could we fit him?

They can and they should do this ...it will take a package deal though I think and eating some not all that contract .I think this kid can play and places like Sandiego ,KC,Atlanta ,Cincy as places that should look at Rusney Castillo as a bargain with his talents .I wish we had a spot for him honestly .

Now I may be the biggest Mookie fAn here ....with that said he's human .The man has put Aton of pressure on himself let's face that right now .Mookie and JD are the offense thump ....Players such as Xander absolutely need to start hitting for more power this year ....I have been pissed at Xs development at the plate ....they neutered the kid ...chili neutered .The Blake swihart train starts and ends with this also ....Blake has POP there's no denying it and Sam Travis has POP ....Blake is playing LF tonight can play numerous positions and can also throw a baseball near 100 mph .Blake Swihart catching and a full season with Nuney is one hell of an improvement in my opinion to the offensive fire power ...Sam Travis should have been given a 1b glove and reps last year the minute Mitch got hurt ...Sam Travis should be given a spot on this team also .We need POP we play at Fenway Park and the AL east we need guys who can change a game in one swing ..Blake ,Sam ,Nuney ....These guys only help Mookie become the guy we know he can be that much quicker ...Folks Cora has thump on this team right now but he has to have the nuts and plan to utilize these men ...

Holt taken out of lineup mid game ....they say abdominal strain .....Swihart in LF 1 for 1 double ..ahhh hmmmm cough .

I think Dave is not the guy to hang failures on at this point ...I blame coaching and the players more ...example Chili Davis and how he in my opinion neutered our lineup ...other opinion ...our supposed vet catcher Leon in my opinion sucks at calling some games too inconsistent ....Holt although a great person has no place on this roster.....Blake Swihart should be given the 2 catchers spot .now Dave ...Mitch is my only head scratch ...I would have gone in a different direction but understand why he did it.....The team could have really used a Molina the last two years for the staff ...but if we are going in this to win this ??? Go for Broke is all I ask Dave ....The window is now .The farm is light sure but we are maybe two pieces away....Empty it if need be ...then trade vets for prospects when it's shut .

I still don't see how this works with a 5 man rotation and our two best pitchers on light innings in the regular season doesn't burn the crap out of the pen ..guess I'm missing something .Thornburg needs to dip his toe in slowly but I am excited to see him pitch....4 million is a little shy of what it would take for 1 year of Lackey type ...maybe 8 would do it .

I'm back ...Here's my question at this point regarding pitching ....How does this new lighter workload for Sale ? For Price ? Effect the bully ? Personally I love the idea of a permanent 6 man rotation period with this team .Velaszquez seems like a decent 6 option but can't we do even better than him ? Wright Could be a disaster he's a knuckleballer who the last time we watched him his knuckler wasn't moving ....he was getting crushed ...Price and Sale I'm counting on but then praying for rain ...Who is on the block a young controllable pitcher that we can target??? Or do we jettison some salary ? Blake makes this team if I'm coaching and yes he's my number 2 catcher ...Cora seems like he won't have the nuts to do that his first year ...we have Nunez and Lin and marrero so to me Holt should be shopped today .....what about going another route and packaging Holt ,Barnes ,a Prospect for A pitcher ?......lastly why not just go after Lackey as a number 5 ? He knows Boston he knows the pressure he doesn't have to be the man here just be a vet with real playoff history and been through the battles ...I feel like this is the year we have to strike and not feel around ..Lackey by most accounts is beloved by his teammates .....Trust me when I say this ..,Lackey ,Bucky,Lester ,Pap and many of the players who leave here may at first show a red ass ....they absolutely miss the atmosphere here ...there's nothing like it ...Erod has never put it together and Rick who's an innings eater is a wildcard ....we are paper thin .Kelly,Barnes are not life lines for this rotation ....they have done a decent job but will be shot from arm fatigue by June .

I'll give you one Moon the guy is a horse with innings. Would you sign this guy for 2 at 42 now ? No Moon you wouldn't ...you would go get Lynn or Cobb and use that money elsewhere .Its a bad contract and can't wait until he's a FA...I will. Acknowledge I'm way over the top with This player ...I'm banning my own ass from speaking about him until he wins a playoff game .

4.6 era in 17 moon and his second strait dumpster fire playoff appearance ...soured me....The 21 million this year and 21 million next is disgusting .Moon you are right he's not a 5 era guy it was gross hyperbole but dammmmn that's a lot of money for average .....I just read this ....it's over the top .The man did win a CY and helped deliver 2 division titles ...He's not a garbage pitcher he's just a conundrum inside a tube stuffed and shot out of a cylinder....He's Clay 2.0 except clay was huge in the playoffs .

4.65 era in 17 moon ..he's a 4.5 guy who is not I repeat not worth his contract

Kimmi ,Porkchop is a career 5 era who melts like velveta with any sign of trouble ...his contract is horrrrrrific and should be jettisoned the minute someone is willing to pay half .A 10 million dollar cushion from that trade would get you Lance Lynn,Cobb or Arietta ....Heck if we go right up against the tax with getting rid of Matt Damon I mean Holt on top of that trade ? We can get Lynn and Cobb....I prefer Arietta ....

This is sooooo overdue and true ....For the love of God give the job to Blake .

Watching JD hit cages today with Mookie asking him how he's pulling his hands through on his outer most impact was reallllllly freaking Awesome !! JD will teach Mookie and Mookie will Teach JD Aton .JD and Mookie by the end of that session had what looked like similar swing paths ....Mookie is a baseball savant people .....Mookie will get the largest contract in Red Sox History .

If I'm Cora ...I definetly put Blake on this team period .Sandy and Brock both are replaceable .

Yeah Thankyou for pointing this out ...thought Nuney had more reps but that's not terrible ...JD would have similar if not much better numbers at those sample sizes ..both capable .ok JD can play 15 games in left at home 25 on the road 25 RF at home 15 on Road ....That's 80 games and that should make JD happy ....Heck I'd give Nuney a shot in LF spot starts to get both bats in there and rest Benny ....15 games .Poor Benny loll Mookie will need some time off and JBJ ....Obviously Mookie and JBJ can play any OF position ....Cora will earn his sheckles ....this is going to be one hell of a team .

Truth be told before injuring himself a couple years ago ....He played much better RF than I want to ever admit .Yes JD can play RF and probably a very serviceable LF albeit dangerous LF here in Boston ....Please just DH though ....can you imagine the impact between JD and Devers going all out ??? Yikes
