  1. How did that happen. Ou. Now maybe a Saints 55 yard field goal for a spectacular finish
  2. I think they have to out-win the Yanks for me to be assured that will happen. Right now they are tied.
  3. I wasn't even aware we were that close. Wow. Anyhow big effort for Big Papi. Strange that DD goes Pap celebrates his return on the same day.
  4. Lat season 5585 homers were hit in the ML. This year the projected number is around 6400. That's about a 13% increase--calculated in my head. I wonder how many were 2 out homers... them's the ones that hurt most or help most.
  5. Yes to Didi, but it depends on the price. No to Cole because we know this will be an OverPrice. A real down year for free agents, I think. We have make trades or hope that Sale or Price can nearly equal Cole's 2020 season--and be our Cole.
  6. Kaye has improved a lot over the years: he used to be this very contentious super patriot type when he was a radio guy... he calmed and matured considerably once in TV land.
  7. I love these 2 out runs, esp after the big boys seemed to strand Devers
  8. I kinda know, but I can't imagine his replacement being better. Remember the good ole days when starting an effective lefty against the Yanks almost always spelled a win. Then Judge and co. came along... different outcome
  9. Well, we nearly swept the Yanks at Fenway earlier, maybe this time we can do it. If so, we'd still have a definite shot going forward. But but but without Price, I must say it's probably a pure pipe dream. Anyway, one loss to the Yanks, then pack it in.
  10. Anyhow, Cleveland lost and Oakland is losing early 2-0.
  11. A hard rain has already begun to fall.
  12. If we pull this one out in the 9th, we will be right on the faltering Guardians' tail. TAKE ADVANTAGE!
  13. Cruz correction 37 homers left out tonight's.
  14. What a season for Nelson Cruz: 100 games and 36 homers, .390 on base. Yes indeed, at 39 years old.
  15. How about 7 runs on 6 hits...
  16. At least Porcello has given us about 155 innings which is probably tops... or I guess E-Rod might have a few more.
  17. TB has only 21 more games. They've won 82. They must have several off days. If they go 11-10, that's 93 wins, which I'm sure would make them one of two teams In.
  18. Well, the Yanks just beat Oakland at home 2-3, but Oakland could easily have swept them... zero clutch hitting. If the Yanks don't get the best record, they will have to play Minny, not Boston or Oakland, in that first series.
  19. A's have 4 with Houston on the road. All other games are winnable. TB (thought they might fold) now has 6 home games vs Us and Yanks... all other games are winnable. Guardians should be odd team out since they have 6 with Minny and 6 with Philly-Wash. Look for an A's-TB play-in game---------unless we go on a tear like right now.
  20. No, no the Yanks really need the best record in the AL. In my humble opinion, they will lose vs Houston if they don't have the home advantage. Oakland today had about 35 base runners and could have won the game easily in each of the late innings, but no rbi hit
  21. Chacin has meaning now we are only 4-5 down in the loss column. In a way, this is the best moment of the year, because each game carries a hell of lot of weight. It feels like the NFL on day one and throughout.
  22. It looks like this as we begin tonight: Guardians will be 79-56 (about to lose) Oakland will be 78-56 (about to win) TB will be 78-58 (about to win) Sox 72-62 (6 back in LOSS column)
  23. Worse scenario for us is if Guardians win 2 of 3 in TB, and Oakland wins 2 of 3 in NY. That would be hard to overcome. So I would not root for Cleveland. I see Yanks broke all-time record for most on IL.. Urshela is the 29th,breaking LA's 28 of a couple years ago.
  24. The 64,000 dollar question is not the chances, but how well will we do in the 7 game Minny-NY series next week. 5-2 we're probably still in, 4-3 and we're probably out. I think we lose one game vs the Angels. Gotta think too that if we hang in, the battle will be A's vs Sox for the final spot.
  25. Cleveland is a dogged team. Oakland has talent and a schedule which ain't bad. TB needs a couple of fresh arms--little miracles from their farm system, but damn after Houston, they have 10 nice home games. Let's face it, this is the 2019 AL, so not a lot of teams to rely on to beat the teams you want beaten. RedSox just got to go on a real tear, take two from the Angels, walk all over the Twins and Yanks. And then tighten your seat-belt.
