  1. Britton would be my top choice, Familia worries me.
  2. One advantage they have is still a very strong farm, but there pockets will not be as deep as the Sox, No way do they resign both Cole and Verlander next offseason.
  3. Lots of different ways we can go in the bullpen, some decent names out there.
  4. Agree they can even out, but the goal was a title .
  5. The only negative deal has been for Thornburg. Carson Smith deal hasn’t worked out but who cares it was for Wade Miley. All his other deals have basically been a net positive.
  6. Thank you haven’t looked today.
  7. have not seen the report he would not go beyond 2 years.
  8. They didn’t get fleeced there mistake was giving up prospects for players they could have come close to replicating on the free agent market.
  9. I wouldn’t say trust them but they can give us hope that our farm is on its way back.
  10. Or they could have just spent the money on a very good free agent closer and second base market and saved there prospects. Horrible trade for them.
  11. Believe me I understand all that, I think you are being way over dramatic. They have a window and 19 is a great year to maximize there chances. Are they going to win every year no , they may have a down year in 2021, but John Henry won’t rebuild he will retool I’m fine with that.
  12. I believe we are both assuming, and if Boston and Houston are the 2 hottest teams after him that says something, both have been great at evaluating talent.
  13. I respectfully disagree with you.
  14. I would add Diaz, Jimenez, Decker, Howlett, and Duran to that list. We might be looking at this farm system a lot different next year.
  15. The Mets have always been very interesting, and with there new GM/agent I don’t think it will change. Might have another Arizona situation with Dave Stewart and Tony Larussa.
  16. not signing him might also be minimizing 2020 and beyond. Will be hard to get someone with his potential at the years and rate he is going to get.
  17. Eovaldi was very good in the regular season also, has great stuff, and probably could be had on a very reasonable contract.
  18. Eovaldi will be cheaper with what I believe to be a greater upside. Can use him in numerous roles. Don’t get me wrong I want Porcello back also, but want to maximize our chances for 2019.
  19. True but I’m going to guess we lose one no matter what Evoldai can be a cheaper more affordable version of Porcello. Will give them a very strong starting 5 this year and buy them another year to replace Porcello for 2020.
  20. Easy to take a flier on Thornburg in hopes he regains his form. Not a guaranteed contract so can always cut him loose in the spring.
  21. I haven’t posted in awhile. What a great year we had. My number one priority this off-season is Evoldai, he makes the rotation elite and helps if we lose Sale or Porcello after 19. I’m not that concerned with the bullpen, maybe a Robertson or Ottavino and a lesser name. Like our depth in the minors to contribute.
  22. I'm guessing cost will be low, supply is much higher then demand for third basemen in this years market.
  23. Frazier is walking a lot this year, and is good at third. If the cost is not high I would definitely trade for him.
  24. I'm not sure how much you would have to give up, he's a rental who's hitting 217. How many contenders are looking for a third basemen. I was thinking along the lines of an Ockimey or Dalbec, plus one of our many fungible minor league relievers.
  25. I'm fine with a Frazier trade but should include no top prospects. Definitely not Devers, Chavis, Groome or Mata.
