We might be over analyzing the reason Bloom was let go. He has been at the helm for four years. In year one, the team finished last , 16 games out in a ( thankfully ) short season. In year two, there was much improvement . The team finished tied for second, 8 games out and had a nice little run in the playoffs. That gave hope for contending in the future. But in year three , the team slid back into the cellar , 21 games out. Now in year four , the team is again in last place, 18 games out. In no way can the team be called a contender these last two years. It is a disappointment no matter how you look at it. Now, they could have stuck with Bloom in hopes that his longer term plans worked out , but they obviously decided that it had gone long enough and that was a gamble they did not want to take. And that's that.
