    Hey guys, I've got an idea. How about we start a new thread and call it " Covid." We could all state our ideas and opinions on all things Covid. We could vent and rant and rave and then drift into politics in general. Sounds like great fun.

    To make the postseason , Seattle would need to have the stars align in perfect Harmony.

    Looks like the A.L. Division races are settled. There are five teams fighting for two wild card spots. My guess is that it will be the Sox and either the Yanks or Blue Jays. Not sure which one I would rather face. Winner plays the Rays in the ALDS. Tough situation , but the best we can hope for at this point.

    That is how Seattle fans seek their annual solace. They blew a two run lead in the ninth to Houston last night. Looks like another disappointing finish for the Mariners.

    Looks like the Rays have scrapped their Hess truck. Maybe we can give him a shot. From what we saw last night , he seems to check all the boxes . Should fit right in.

    If the Sox were to finish fourth in the East this year, it would be a major disappointment . Should the Yankees also miss out on the post season , it would not change that disappointment very much as far as I am concerned.

    i think it is unlikely that J.D. opts out. If by chance he does , the Sox will almost certainly try to sign Schwarber. I don't know if they will do that if J.D. stays.

    Manfred has done more harm than good with his decisions. Maybe there should be one commissioner for the business side of things and another for the on field issues. Someone who better understands the game.

    Folks generally are willing to cut some slack to those they like. And have very little patience with those that they don't much care for. That's how it works in life.

    The Blue Jays are only a game behind in the loss column , but they have played four less games , so that could change.

    The word " choke" is probably thrown around too loosely. And often unfairly. But it is real and can sometimes happen to the best of them. Sometimes the pressure gets to you . You have to realize that and find ways to overcome it. Don't let it become habitual.

    The chances of getting a wild card are still very good. Can't worry about maybe losing the play-in game to the Yanks. You have to be in it to win it.

    On paper, the Yankees have a powerful lineup. But on the field , they get shut down quite a bit.

    Crazy game today. Just have to file it and forget it. Move on.

    If you want to go by what we saw today , you could pretty much eliminate everybody from consideration.

    Have to love the signing of Jose Iglesias. Home at last.

    The problem is that there is a lot of mediocrity in the bullpen. Now , any jabroni can get the job done on any given day , but you really need a closer that can be counted on the vast majority of the time. Barnes has shown that ,when right , he can do it. You want to get him healthy and confident for the stretch run. That is not a sure thing , but it is the best bet right now. Don't get carried away every time some guy pitches a scoreless inning or two.

    Losing Loaisiga is a major blow. He was a rock in the Yankee bullpen. I don't know why that kid Gil is in the minors when you see some of the stiffs they have been using. Strange.

    Momentum. When you're hot , you're hot . You find a way to win. No matter who is pitching. No matter who is in or out of the lineup. Just win.

    The Sox have the momentum now. And momentum is a real thing. Have to feel good about their chances today.

    Well, at least things haven't gotten so bad that we are picking up career .189 hitting jabronis from team like the Rockies. ........ Wait a minute . Oh , no. Damn.

    A ship is sinking in stormy seas. A few survivors drift in lifeboats. A rescue ship arrives to save them . They gratefully climb aboard . Next thing you know, the " survivors " want to take over the rescue ship. Moral: Sometimes it's better to just let them drift away.

    I don't think his name moved the needle at all as far as scouts and front office types are concerned. I was talking about the average jabroni fan.
