    Kinsler is brutal, swinging at the air. Does anyone know J.Bradley's post season numbers for 2018? I don't recall him doing very much this postseason. His swing is weird, not level.

    There is no reason to play Nunez over Devers against RHP. Devers should have been in the lineup last night because is the better choice against RHP, he has a better bat than Nunez.

    Agreed. Sale only threw around 150 innings this year. Thus, we can't say he is wearing down as the season has gone on. Instead, an arm/shoulder issue is more likely the culprit. Sale has a violent delivery. I don't think anyone would be surprised to see that delivery catch up to him (at some point) and cause an arm/shoulder issue. Based on the time he spend on the DL this year, and the crap we saw last night, I would not even approach Sale with a long term extension in the offseason. Too many red flags.

    The Red Sox need a big start from Price. Chris Sale doesn't look healthy to me, so someone has to step up. There is a long term problem with Sale's declining velocity and possible shoulder issue, something that can devastate a pitcher's career. If Sale's health issue lingers into next year, the Red Sox have little chance to compete for a championship in 2019. But I suppose there will be plenty of time to talk about that when the season is over. The bigger issue now is: can the Red Sox get past the Astros with a 70% Chris Sale? Probably not unless David Price steps it up. David Price to the rescue!!

    Nunez isn't a very good defensive player. He is a better defensive player than Devers, but Devers is the superior offensive player. An argument could be made to keep Nunez off the postseason roster altogether. Start Devers at 3b, and use Lin (who replaces Nunez on the roster) as a late inning defensive replacement at 3b. At least Lin can do one thing well--play defense--whereas Nunez doesn't do anything well. I'm OK with Nunez starting at 3b against lefties, it made sense to start him against Sabathia, but I would not start him against right handed pitchers. I suspect Cora will correct his mistake and put Devers in the lineup against Cole on Sunday night.

    Bad game for Cora, especially the decision to start E.Nunez at 3b. Cora is really sticking his neck out for David Price in game two, let's see how that works out for him. The biggest issue: Chris Sale was not Chris Sale. Totally devastating. It looks like he really does have an arm/shoulder issue. The Red Sox should forget all about a long term contract for Sale at this juncture. It is hard to see the Red Sox winning a championship this year without a dominant Sale.

    For me, this opens the door for B.Harper. The Yankees are going to need a left handed bat more than anything else. They will sign Harper for LF, play Torres at SS, and find a temporary player at 2b until Didi returns. The Yankees OF will consist of Harper, Hicks, and Judge, with Stanton at DH. I can't figure out if the Yankees plan to keep Andujar at 3b, trade him, or move him to 1b? I hope the Yankees can't/don't sign Harper and Machado. Harper will probably cost 300 million at a minimum and there will be competition for Harper as well as Machado.

    He is from the Bay area, I could see the A's making a minor one year investment in Sabathia. If the Yankees bring him back, it has to be as a 5th starter only. You don't want Sabathia starting playoff games. He can't do that anymore.

    Until he wins a championship, there is no way I'm putting Cora above Terry Francona. Championships matter and Francona has two of them. Sure, 108 wins is nice, but a championship is special and the ultimate goal.

    I hope they keep Eavoldi as the third starter. That would mean that Porcello starts only one game, but Porcello can also pitch from the bullpen. I was considering the idea of making Price the 4th guy in the rotation, behind the big 3 of Sale, Eavoldi, and Porcello. In this scenario, Price starts only one game in the ALCS. The problem with this idea: since the ALCS starts on Sat, Eavoldi would have to pitch on Sunday. I would rather give Eavoldi a few extra days of rest. By keeping Price as the #2, I'm also giving Porcello a little extra rest. If Price sucks again, the Red Sox could start E-Rod in game 6 and move Price to the bullpen. With that said, I would make the move now. E-Rod would be my #2, followed by Eovaldi and Porcello; Price to the bullpen.

    I would have left Porcello in for one more inning. In that scenario, Barnes pitches the 7th, Brasier pitches the 8th, and Kimbrel the ninth, but you have Sale available and he could have backed up any reliever who struggled (in this case, Kimbrel). I don't trust Kimbrel going forward. If the Red Sox are winning 3-1 in game one against the Astros in the ninth inning and Kimbrel walks the lead off batter, I'm taking him out. For the time being, I think the Red Sox have to back up Kimbrel with another arm throwing in the bullpen (maybe Kelly?) ready to come in at the first sign of trouble. The Yankees should have tied that game, Kimbrel was that bad.

    ESPN New York, I think it was Chris Canty, said that Boone manages like a malfunctioning computer. That is pretty harsh. But the Bradley Jr. argument didn't make any sense. He keeps Sabathia in for an extra batter or two so that the Yankees have a favorable match-up against Jackie Bradley Jr? With all due respect to Bradley Jr., the guy isn't a very good hitter and (without looking) I don't think he has been hitting very well lately. Who cares about Bradley Jr., he isn't an offensive threat. Instead, Boone should have been more aware of Kinsler and Nunez's favorable numbers against Sabathia and made a move.

    I think the Phillies are going to end up with one of the two (Harper, Machado). They have money to spend and a billion dollar TV contract on the way.

    When Dombrowski was trading for Eovaldi, Cashman was busy trading for Z.Britton. Cashman trades for Happ and Lynn. Happ gets the loss for game one. Lynn falls down while delivering a pitch with bases loaded in game 3. Can you be a worse conditioned athlete than Lance Lynn? He is an active baseball player and yet he has the gut of someone who sits at his desk all day eating pizza and drinking soda.

    I think NY sports radio is going to tear Boone apart tomorrow for bringing in L.Lynn in that spot. And the whole Severino thing -- warm up time -- is going to turn into a major controversy. Perhaps someone will initiate a Congressional investigation into the matter.

    It's funny to think that Yankees fans spent hundreds of dollars on a ticket to that game. In some cases, over 1,000. I guess they feel ripped off.

    LOL. I'm torn. Leon has good numbers against Sabathia, better numbers than Vazquez. It'll be interesting to see what Cora decides to do. I would stick with Vazquez.

    True but I'm trying to figure out a way to get Holt in there. I hate Kinsler but he does have good numbers against Sabathia.
