  1. That kid Ryu is having a unreal season for the Dodgers, Bellinger is having a HOF season. Should be interesting, regarding the revenge factor.
  2. We go from Tigers to the Dodgers, with all their Pitchers lined up, anyway they want to set it up. Quite a test.
  3. After the break the Sox play 12 of the next 19 games against teams with winning records.
  4. I've flipped my views, bring up Darwinzon Hernandez, sure he'll walk a ton of batters but the kid has a Major League arm, maybe we strike gold. No need to go crazy for a 5th starter. Eovaldi will be on a pitch count, for a few starts, put it to good use and use the pitch count for the BP. If he helps the BP, good, if by the time he gets to full strength, a better need as a Starter, then move him. Team has to do something drastic, 5th starters, that probably will not throw more then 5 innings start, lucky if you get 6, will put even more work, on a overworked BP. Not too many 8+ innings 5th starters around. Even 7+ Lucky if you get 6+.
  5. Sox have to make a decision on Tyler Thornburg. https://www.trifectanetworksports.com/red-sox-have-a-major-decision-to-make-on-thornburg/
  6. Part of the Trade, for Thornburg, was the SS for that great Salem team. Moncada, Benni, and him. Hitting .306 with 14 HRS with Triple AAA San Antonio. 14 HRS never had that kind of Power, PCL, might be the difference. He'll be making his debut today for the Brewers.
  7. I'm going to Post this and tell me if you think this is crazy. The Sox Pitching is letting Opposition hit .275 with RISP. Were hitting, as a team .278 with RISP. Tells me we are doing fine, sometimes have a Off day-happens. But the Pitching is letting the Opposition right back into the game or getting behind. That's why they are so tight, or blowouts. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/split/39/league/al Look at the run differential, Tampa has played 1 more game, and have allowed almost 80 runs less. WoW! OK Tampa has 19 less innings, but that much difference. We seem to walk more too, when Runners are on. Don't know how accurate this is, but this is concerning, at least to me. 192 is the average at this point, were a little higher at 203, but allowing too many runs, at critical times. OK that's it. One last thing I lied, ha, Sox Pitching last year allowed a .234 BA against Opposition with RISP. Here's 2018, just look at BB's. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/pitching/year/2018/split/39/league/al
  8. Only reason were winning. Pitching has no consistency. Starter will do good, BP will fail, or other way around. Get into the Play-offs and pray. 14 of those games we played only 3 games against teams with a winning record. 1-2 in those games. Get into the Play-offs we'll be facing better Pitching. So, Pitching is the backbone for every team, to advance. I never rely on hitting.
  9. Last 3 starts Rick P. ERA is 12.75 Red Sox have now allowed 6 runs or more in 8 straight games. Tied for the second longest streak in a single season in team history. Longest streak -1976 - 9 games. There have been 202 combined runs scored in last 14 Sox games. Sox- 103 Opp- 99
  10. You see either. I have. In the Minors. Saw Chavis last year, Lowell and Portland and Dalbec this year. You seem to Post like you've seen them. If that's true, then I apologize. Chavis, I liked years ago, when many on this site said he was not a good Defensive 3rd Baseman. I liked him there. He's played 2nd, and 1st in the Majors. Bad Defensive, or Fundamentals, follows you everywhere. Chavis always had great feet. Dalbec doesn't, he's a Buffalo. Dalbec should be a 1st Baseman, and hopefully his 3rd base work will help him, as a Major League first baseman I hope the Sox, move him.
  11. Kid like Dalbec has been scouted by many teams already, if he was anything that was worth giving other Players for, we would know about it. Too many swing and misses.
  12. Yanks are 14-4 against Toronto and Baltimore. Sox are 13-8. What s***** teams you talking about?
  13. All that matters is beating the teams who have the best chance of taking over 1st place from you. They are 12 games up. It would take massive amounts of losses to bad teams to make that up.
  14. The best Reliever throws strikes, consistently. They control the Strike Zone, batter is always Defensive in the box, knowing, you cant wait him out, you better swing. You get beat at times..No doubt, but you be better off in the long run.
  15. Eovaldi keeps it simple and throws strikes. He'll be fine. Just what you need in the Closer's Role, a strike thrower, who throws flames. Sox have to make this an 8 inning game. I bet if he does well, all the other Relievers, will fill their roles better. I don't want my closer in the 7th, facing their best part of line-up, because walks, hits, maybe errors, by the time you get to the 9th, they are up again. Don't predict the future in a game. It changers very quickly. We need Relievers with Roles, worked for years. Seemed to work. Mo Rivera in the 7th made no sense.
  16. Saw that. haha About time. Still like Eovaldi as a Closer.
  17. Dalbec is hitting .235 last 10 games. 5 HRS gives the illusion he is a good hitter. He strikes out once every 3 at bats. He has 11 errors, but that about the norm for him. Throughout his career at 3rd, he's a .930 Fielding Percentage guy. By this time Dalbec should be figuring out the guys, he will struggle when promoted and faces even tougher competition.
  18. Yanks 15-3 against Red Sox and Tampa this year so far.
  19. Looked like he's smiling, after he f***ed up.
  20. First extra base hit from a lead-off batter in 1st inning this year, 88th game.
  21. Cleveland is hot at the moment too. Might have to root for the Yanks to beat the Rays.
  22. Starters through 86 games. Didn't include last nights game. Wins 2019 - 41 2018 - 24 Innings pitched 2019 - 447.1 2018 - 497.0 49.2 innings less ERA 2019 - 4.67 2018 - 3.82
  23. Relief pitching through 86 games, didn't includes last night. Saves 2019-17 2018-28 Innnings Pitched 2019-333.0 2018-278.1 ERA 2019-4.43 2018- 3.17 ERA up 1.26
  24. Some of the best Stats on the Sox are on BostonSportsinf on twitter. Like did you know the Sox have now gone 87 games without an extra base hit from the lead-off man in the 1st inning.
