  1. Yesterdays game with the Dodgers marked the 13th time in 91 games that a Sox Starter got at least 21 outs in a game.
  2. Padres too, they are only 2 games out of WC, another team with good Prospects, their Minor League talent is ranked #1 overall.
  3. Agree, if he's on the Market Astros will surely be on him, and they have one of the best Minor League Systems their is from Top to Bottom. Astros have some of the best Pitching in the Minors, Mets will want Pitching, not Position players.
  4. Good article. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/toolshed-trade-deadline-preview-for-prospects/c-308965006
  5. I see many teams looking at Pitching this year at the Deadline. This Deadline is about Pitching, Offense not the strength of Players needed. Not for Prospects that will be dangled. DD is really going to have to pull a rabbit out of his hat, with the Prospects we can offer, compared to other organizations, and their Minors. I see DD looking at rentals.
  6. Agree, MLB are idiots, after the Indian series, the Sox play 38 games with 8 days off. I think a couple of these 34 games are make-ups though. 2 weeks straight either the Yanks or the Rays, crazy.
  7. I expect the Sox to win 2 out 3 against the Dodgers. Their pitching on the road is not as good as ours. Maeda, Stripling, and Kershaw. E-Rod, Sale, Price. Sox should easily take 2 out of 3 minimum.
  8. What team is good in the Red Sox Minor League system? Lowell is the only team with a winning record. Last year too, Sox did not have a team from Low A to Triple AAA that had a winning record. Pawtucket is 35-53, you think their is much talent there? And that stadium is a Pitchers Park, just the foul territory. They come up to Fenway, they must freak out.
  9. Next off day July 29th. Then another 17 straight games. Just working a regular job, its tough to work 30 days + with 1 day off. A complete day off, nothing to do with Baseball. This part of schedule will determine season. I have a feeling the Pawtucket shuttle will be in overdrive.
  10. See how Dubon does, he was just called up by the Brewers. https://www.apnews.com/f68c6311f2774255bd72457c7e6e1bac
  11. I think after tomorrow in which this team will be playing 17 straight games, then by the time the Trade Deadline comes, we would have played the Yanks and Rays 9 games. That should determine if we buy or sell. 34 games in 36 days. I see our Relivers coming out of BP, walking like the Walking Dead Characters, were their arms fall off when the reach the Mound. If the Starters don't pick it up at least by the Deadline, the decision could be made by Performance in the next 19 days by our Starting Pitching. If you go by the standard, our starters have gone 6 innings. So if you think about it the Relivers will have logged about 51 innings in the next 17 days, doesn't sound like a lot, but it's almost 6 full- 9 inning games, out of 17.
  12. I liked it, something different. Didn't mind it at all. The difference in this game was because of commentators? You must have hated Football with Cosell. That guy was absolutely the worse, still watched the game. Still do with the chuckleheads now. Point is either you like the game or you don't. Sometime I turn the sound off, or listen to music. I can still concentrate to watch the game. You go to a live game, you watch it without commentators. As far as play on the field, they did a darn good job, of playing the hard, and focus, and not worried about getting hurt. Each team wanted to beat the other, just like regular game.
  13. NBA All-Star game haven't watched that crap in years. NHL All-Star, love Hockey hate that game, NFL- forget it. Still love the MLB All-Star game, they still play with pride. Loved it since I can remember. Guys running hard down to 1st base, guys getting their bodies in front of 110 mph grounders, proud of those kids played the game right.
  14. Castillo is the happiest baseball player to never played the game.
  15. Just this weekend Sox have to get the lead out, Dodgers play bad on the road, but they are still the Dodgers, and they are getting Seager back. Yanks play Toronto, Rays play the Orioles.
  16. According to Rob Bradford, Sox are leaning to releasing Thornburg. He refused Minor League assignment. His career with the Sox 41 games, 42.2 innings, 6.54 ERA. 5,850,000 salary.
  17. Maybe that is why they want only 1 inning from him. And go from there. Starting him and throwing maybe 50-60 pitches maybe might damage him more. I'm sure if he does closes his first appearance they wont throw him out the next night, they will keep an eye on this. Had no closer all year, 1 day off, maybe 2 shouldn't hurt him. At least they will know short term how his arm is.
  18. I bet they know more about Eovaldi then we know. I bet he's done for the year. If he cant go 1 inning, and has arm problems, I bet he's not going to contribute at all this season.
  19. Sox need a 5th Starter, schedule dictates it.
  20. They will get the workload now. 34 games in 36 days.
  21. Sox have 1 day off from Friday till Aug.14. Brutal. After the break we play 17 straight games. Get a day off, then continue till Aug.14. This is the season right now, the Sox need a 5th Starter. If I a missed a day-off, please correct me, but I looked 3 times, because I could not believe this. We play 34 games with 2 days off, by my count. 17 straight, then day-off, then 17 straight again. Brutal.
  22. Last season he pitched a total of 42 innings from July to the Post-Season. He had a 4.11 era in the Post-Season. So it seems to me nothing is working for the guy, at this moment. That shoulder injury last season, has lasted longer then we realize, or hoped for. Cora tried to save his Ace, and others, didn't work at the beginning, but this late in season, it's a moot point. Losing 18 leads from the 7th inning on, and losing the game has been the difference up to this point. Just going .500 on these games we would be within 2 games of first place.
  23. So what's going on with Sale? You saying the Spring Training hurt him this late in the season?
  24. Phone call by the Boston Red Sox to GM of the Mets. Brrrrriinnngggggg! "Hi this Dave Dombrowski of the Boston Red Sox, we like to discuss a deal that will send Zach Wheeler to us. GM of the Mets...." Who you willing to give to us"? DD .."We'll give you...…" Mets GM, 'WE'LL TAKE HIM!"
