  1. Start him against the Yanks. Sorry Twins are next they are another bad team see how he does.
  2. Swihart has a nice swing. Quick Hands. Offense came back to win it, and Kelley couldn't hold it. That wasn't even in the big spotlight. You trust him now in a really tough situation? I hate losses like last night, 1 mistake you might get away with, (Pomeranz), 2 mistakes, hard for Offense to make up difference.
  3. Pomeranz is losing a lot of money, he better start turning it around. Free Agency is coming up fast.
  4. All I'm saying is the Competition you face, as a better way to evaluate how a Pitcher is progressing. For me I think He should dominate tonight against a weak Opponent. If he doesn't that tells me he needs more work. Or I'm not going to rely on more, going forward. In a way the Negative, is more telling than the Positive.
  5. I included his bad starts at Pawtucket. Including his last one, against a weak hitting team in the International League. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t533&player_id=519141#/career/R/pitching/2018/ALL
  6. Team hitting .228 for the season, he has problems tonight, then what? 29th out of 30 teams in Runs scored. Last week Triple AAA, this week AAAA team....maybe. I wouldn't even go by this game if he pitches OK. If he pitches bad, that would tell me more.
  7. Benni has the quickest hands on this team after Betts, and its close.
  8. He gave up 9 HRS last Sept. out of 24, as his Pitches were flattening out, and they were very hittable. Keep an eye on that. Balls getting barreled up and hit hard.
  9. When a Pitcher gets stronger as the game goes on, don't matter what 2 Pitches he throws. That's starter material. What idiot in the Sox organization played around with a kid, at this point in his career. Just Drafted last year and lets change his style. Idiots.
  10. Don't think have to worry about Britton anyway, too many teams in on him.
  11. Haven't followed Sox Prospects in years. Perfect Game projected him as a Starter like that site better my preference. Box score. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2018_07_23_potafa_salafa_1&t=g_box&sid=milb
  12. 7, 8, and 9th innings are won or lost in the Play-offs. Good start from your starter is good if game was only 6 innings. Your starter gets Whacked in Play-offs then it doesn't matter. Outs count. KC won one and almost 2 without any big names, their BP was the difference. The way the game is nowadays. You could use your 5th starter to help. We have how many Starters now? Just a couple are injured. See what Pomeranz does 1st.
  13. Houck pitched a beauty today. Only run he gave up was because of throwing error on his part. Got stronger as game went on. Game still on Salem leads 3-1 at this point. Houck's final stats today 6 innings, 4 hits, 0 earned runs, ZERO WALKS, 8 K's. This was a good hitting team he faced. He's trending in right Direction. 2 Quality starts in a row against 2 good teams. ERA down to 4.50
  14. Price pitches better with Sandy as his Catcher then Vazquez. Maybe injury helped? It's a big difference too.
  15. Houck Pitching now against the best hitting team in the Carolina League, Potomac. Big start.
  16. Good point, but I feel in the long run, I think this will hurt the Yanks more. Forces the Starters to throw good games. 2 or 3 bad starts in a row, it can really kill a BP. Aug. 13 they would have had a day-off, now they have to play.
  17. I'm with you but Boy what a gamble. If you hit you get a dominate Pitcher, if not, well you tried. He's trending in right direction, 1.64 ERA last 30 days, but boy, such a short sample. Total Gamble. Got to eliminate Kelly from any High Leverage situations. Play-offs BP's are just as important for me to get last 9 Outs. We play them good time to see what he got.
  18. Last game played by Chavis was 7-14, for Portland, not hurt either. Wasted season for him. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t546&player_id=656308#/career/R/hitting/2018/ALL
  19. That Salem Team batting Moncada, Dubon, and Benni, were dynamic, for first 3 batters. I get the Moncada move, but DD seemed like Dubon was a throw in. Next year when Bogaerts contract runs out, nobody to fall back on. With Boras as an agent you better have it. Sox will be paying big Bucks for Bogaerts, that's my prediction. Just glad he didn't Trade Benni too.
  20. He would have been playing SS for the Brewers.
  21. Thornburg cost us this kid too. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=dubon-000mau Kid hit everywhere he has been. Before injury had 23 game hitting streak, and was going to be called up this year for sure, by the Brewers.
  22. That rain-out last night is really going to tax the Yanks Pitching staff. Starting July 31, they play 20 straight games without a day off. Common sense, with 100 Pitch count 6-7 inning quality start, your going to need the BP to finish it. You get bad Starts, they will really going to work that BP. BP's need days off too. Going to be tough stretch there for the Yanks. July 31st Trade Deadline, feel they will go for Pitching.
  23. Don't take much for Relievers, not a lot of innings. Also that shows batters hit when it matters against him, that's no good.
  24. I've been a Devers supporter for a long time, but I'm starting to think he was brought up too early. Hope I'm wrong. He looks like he makes a decision before Pitch he's going to swing, no matter what. Error yesterday showed me he still is unsure about balls hit to him. Improvement should be starting to kick up a notch. It's not. Maybe because days off, I hope so.
  25. Sox are 25-3 when JDM Homers, could have used him yesterday.
