  1. Probably have to wait and see in Sept. who might get hot. Vazquez gets hot going into Play-offs, Leon should sit. Both are the same to me. Devers, to me has to be on Roster, need the Left Handed Bat. I would be playing him to death right now, and see if his Defense has improved. Saw him over weekend he was working hard with Phillips at 3rd with his footwork. Phillips didn't even play one game and worked with Raffy a long time at 3rd. Phillips is a very good glove man, he could handle 3rd no problem. If he gets hot hitting in Sept. Cora has decisions to make.
  2. Don't go by 162 games when Play-offs begin. Go by the who helps the Team and Manger best chance make moves as each game is played, to win it. To me a guy that just plays one position, hand-cuffs a Manager, already, you don't need 2 of them.
  3. Don't need 2 guys that do the same thing, in a positional standpoint. Counter productive, Manager stuck to work around them instead of playing players as the game dictates, especially in different situations. for a short series. 162 games different story, more about evaluating who should be playing.
  4. Good point. They have a very good record against Lefties this year.
  5. AL Play-offs like this. WS things change. National League Rules might change this. Plus performance in AL Play-offs. One last thing to consider, E-Rod owns the Yankees, has some of his best games against them. Maybe not own them, but has some good games against the Yanks.
  6. By the time Espinoza makes the Majors, Pomeranz, probably wont be in the league. Espinoza had TJS a little more than a year ago. Next year, A Ball, and see how surgery worked, and building up the Arm. Padres dropped the ball on Espinoza by having surgery way too late, last year. Edit: Espinoza not even going to AFL this year. He hasn't pitched in 2 years, going into next year. Same Pitcher? Who knows. Still think the Padres make him a Reliever.
  7. My Play-off bubble guys, Positional only. Phillips Swihart Vazquez Devers Out of these guys, 2 only play 1 Position. Could be the difference.
  8. During a 162 game season no problem carrying 3 Catchers, Manager should be evaluating the whole season anyway, not just counting injuries. In Play-offs it will be about Match-ups, and versatility for the Manager. The more positions you can play, the better to make in game adjustments. 2 Catchers that only play 1 position, holds back a Manager, from moving around other positions. 2 guys basically does the same thing as 1 do. No need. 2 Catchers where one plays 4 or 5 positions, plus switch hits, gives a Manager tons of flexibility. With Devers, its all about his fielding, he improves here he makes it. Smart Managers knows the importance of good Defense in the Play-offs. You cannot give good teams extra outs, you saw that yesterday.
  9. Didn't see it, sorry.
  10. You don't need 3 Catchers in the AL Play-offs. Where you will need 3 Catchers is the WS, with National League Rules. They were talking about this on the Radio during yesterdays game.
  11. Sean McAdam says Phillips is eligible for Post-Season. According to him he says he was in the Organization by Aug. 31, and that is all that matters. Here's another article. https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/does-brandon-phillips-fit-red-sox-playoff-picture
  12. Old Fart walked through that door. hahaha
  13. Raffy, Nice swing.
  14. Kid throws bullets.
  15. Your right even when Pomeranz is warmed up he isn't anyway.
  16. Batting practice.
  17. Get him out bring in Pomeranz.
  18. I think this Pitcher 3 hit us with our Star line-up, maybe these kids will get at least 4 hits.
  19. Sunday's game he was working with Devers at 3rd base, before the game. Sox Management said Phillips was a great presence to the kids. His reward, he knows he's 37, and not walking through some doors, maybe he can get some kids attention to get better.
  20. Phillips will be wearing "0" hahaha
  21. Crazy Line-up today, Swhihart in right hahaha. Holt at SS. Phillips at 2nd. JD, Mookie, and Bogey rest. JBJ leads off.
  22. Still not counting out Phillips, he makes us more versatile.
  23. Guy pitching for the Braves today, very good nobody knows about. Phillips should be playing today, either 2nd or 3rd, my guess 2nd. Been hot in Pawtucket. Saw him over Weekend guy is smooth as silk at 2nd base.
  24. Looks like 54-1 after tonight. Yanks put a end to that looks like.
  25. For his career JBJ has a .196 avg. and a .624 OPS in his career in Sept/Oct. So cranking it up this Month would be a good sign going into Play-offs. By the way I think he will, he looks 100 times better at the plate now, then start of season. Looks real confident at the plate now. Good sign.
