  1. I get it that you have to perform where you play. But that based clearing double looked like a routine fly ball in any other park. Kutter was unlucky.
  2. Paper said scheduled day off.....something Cora is famous for. He wanted right handed bats but Casas is in the lineup along with Verdugo.
  3. Games Played so far. 65 Devers Age 26 65 Turner Age 38 Yeah, one's a DH and the other 3B. Why not DH Devers? Why do we baby these athletes? Is it so hard to swing a bat? What are your thoughts on this Mr. Robinson? Mr. Gehrig?
  4. I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of people that can follow John Henry's instructions. Just for THAT, Bloom gets no credit from me. Hell, I can probably do it.
  5. I don't quite understand the poster that said this guy was a racist........is there something out there that I'm not aware of?
  6. Kike told Cora he loves playing shortstop. You've got to take care of your son. Have you ever watched a team coached by a player's dad?
  7. You have to look HARD for good things. Such as our three youngsters doing what they did over the weekend versus the Yankees.
  8. It's timely done as you know. Thursday is an off day, so he'll get much needed two days rest. I hate Cora sometimes.
  9. He's a hotdog and I hate hotdogs.
  10. I hate to see what his athleticism looks like in couple of years. To me, it's an overpay for a designated hitter with no power. I'm very serious about this. As other positions fill up with better talent, I'm not opposed to eating some salary and dumping him. Not right now.....
  11. Question is an ace to be with 10 year projection worth trading Mayer and other player pieces and giving out $30M long term contract when the team controlled years expire?
  12. Whitlock and Houck are starters. No one has mentioned Winckowski returning as a starter. No one from the Sox organization anyway. Funny how Moon was big advocate of Pivetta as #5 yet he doesn't think Whitlock nor Houck can fulfill that role? Crwaford should be a long reliever. I think we have 2 3 and 4 covered. At worst 3 4 and 5 if that pleases people on this board. Sox brass thinks highly of Bello Houck and Whit. And that matters more than what we think.
  13. It's time to play the people that will be with us next year and beyond.. That means Duran as an example.
  14. Jesus dude It was a legit question. Commentators always talk about 12 of his errors are throwing errors. If u don't know then u don't know.
  15. Does defensive metrics account for the damage done by a throwing error versus a fielding error? Kike's bad throw allowed "2 base' error that led to giving up a run on the same play. It seems to me THAT error is worse than a fielding error.
  16. Maybe Bloom can pick up JBJ to shore up our defense. Get Marwin too.
  17. Really could use a sweep versus Colorado at home. It's about pitching. Our bats should wake up at home. If we can' hit next 3 games, then I give up. Rockies are a bad team.
  18. I agree with you 100%.
  19. I'd say other than Mayer no minor leauger is untradeable. I am not advocating cleaning house. If there is a Bello out there then get him.
  20. I haven't been this excited about our young starting pitchers in a long time. True Judge wasn"t in the lineup. So what? Every team deals with injuries. I don't care that we didn't score much. Winning starts with starting rotation. At minimum 3 more years of Bello Houck and Whitlock. If u can't get excited about these three then baseball isn't your game. I got what I wanted. Both Kluber and Pivetta no longer starting. Life is good. I am all in this winter on that Japanese pitcher.
  21. Untouchable: RHP Brayan Bello, 3B Rafael Devers, LF Masataka Yoshida. I'm wondering if we can do better at $18M/5years. If we have a taker and gives us something in value, losing $18M commit doesn't sound all that bad to me.
  22. You have a point.....I'm not married to him as the head of baseball operations as before. We're currently separated.
  23. If money is not an issue and trading away any and all prospects are doable, who do we get to make us an immediate contender next year? We don't have enough to win it all this year so at this point we should be 'sellers' at trading deadline. How do we make the Sox a World Series contender next year? My first thought is to package Paxton, Verdugo and Pivetta to Texas for whatever young talent they have..... Sign the young Japanese starting pitcher. Sign Soto the following year. Can the Padres sign another $300M player?
  24. To me 2020 season never happened. Congrats to Dodgers for winning the most meaningless world series title in the history of major league baseball. Like it or not, I do think the Sox management thought we had a good team when the season started in 2019. We survived 2021 without Betts so I'm not sure not signing Betts was the biggest issue facing the Sox. So the real problem is 2022 and its aftermath. Bloom was horrendous. He has to correct it this winter. Last place finishes two years in a row requires change in approach.
  25. Congrats.... so you knew the COVID would hit and Price would opt out? Now you're making some arguments based on facts not known in 2019. You and I agree on almost everything. But please give me the best case scenario after 2019.
