  1. They did score a run. Too bad to have the guy on third with no out and not score him, but I'm surprised at the negativity.
  2. It's the third inning of the 40th game. Let's not overreact.
  3. Just saw this on espn.com "Smith is battling lingering forearm soreness and he could require another stint on the disabled list if his condition does not improve, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports. (57 minutes ago)"
  4. GAtor is fine with me. It's certainly been fun to watch.
  5. I'm looking for JBJ to break out of his slump, 2/10 in the last two games. Seriously though, how great has it been watching this guy. I don't want to mess with what's working, but if his streak continues he has to be moved up to give him that extra at bat each game. What's a good place for him in this order?
  6. I think this is also in line with the going the other way trend. How many times last year did we see Xander slap the ball over the second baseman's head for a single? This wasn't luck, he was trying to hit it there. This is something a lot of sox players are doing and would likely increase their babip.
  7. It's actually pretty common. Better pitchers are able to work out of jams without giving up 4 runs. In the past Buccholz has been able to do it at times. If I knew how I would be a pitching coach.
  8. I'm definitely a Clay supporter. He is easily worth the $13M. Yes, his stats have been horrendous this year, but he has shown that he can pitch. He just needs to avoid those bad innings. He's also an injury risk, which is why he's only worth $13M. There's a chance the sox wouldn't have even made the playoffs in 2013 without the half a year that Buccholz gave them.
  9. I think Hanley has looked great, but one thing that surprised me looking at the stats is that he has the fewest assists for any qualifying 1B and it's not even close. He has 3, #2 has 11. I'm not entirely sure why, I haven't noticed him missing assist opportunities.
  10. What really happened is they delayed Wright's start. Now the rotation is Price, Wright, Buchholz, Other Guy, Porcello. The order is the same as it started the season (with Other Guy instead of Kelley), except for Wright's slot, but Wright has one less start. After Porcello's next game, Price, Buchh and Porcello will all have 7 starts, but Wright will only have 6.
