  1. Don't bet on it. The fact that I don't talk about it doesn't mean it's not still there.
  2. Hey, I want to use Xander & Swihart as the centerpieces of a trade for Stanton.
  3. Well, as I tell people, don't ask me a question you may not want to hear the answer to. :-)
  4. OUCH! That's going to leave a MARK!! LOL
  5. In MY Opinion... Xander's defense has always been overrated - but I qualify that by saying that I still think we should have kept Iggy and moved Bogaerts to 3B, but that's a horse that's been dead for so long there's no point in beating him any more. The thing that's disappointing me in 2007 is his offense, and more specifically the fact that this "slump" has gone on as long as it has without him able to do anything about it. I've always been a big JBJ fan. I don't think there's any way his defense can be overrated, and his offense is about what I'd expected - or maybe a tad lower than I'd expected. I know I'm being inconsistent here because I feel the same about Mookie that I did about Bogaerts, but I think Mookie is more liable to come out of his slump at any moment. And like JBJ, his defense makes him worth carrying. TMI? LOL
  6. My standards are notoriously low. I think of things in terms of what *I* can do. :-)
  7. Mookie made a statement with that throw. "Don't even THINK of running on my arm!"
  8. I've been thinking of him for some time as "Mr Overrated".
  9. Ya. I'd like to ask him how many teams have an OPS+ of ~100 up and down the order, and what the 2017 Red Sox look in that regard. IOW, is there anything to be said for being consistent throughout the order as opposed to having some players with a high OPS+ and others with a low OPS+.
  10. I am completely gender neutral in my observations. I just call 'em like I see 'em!
  11. I know I'm in the minority here, I do like the statistical side of baseball - believe it or not - so I also like listening to Speier. However, watching him another story. Will someone please get that man a pocket protector?? LOL
  12. That was rhetorical.
  13. How many hits / runs does out outfield save us?
  14. OB is beginning to sound a lot like Castiglione. "....a ground ball to second base :("
  15. Let me ask this... If the shoe were on the other foot and the Sox were accusing the Yankees of this would we believe for a moment that Girardi didn't know about it??
  16. I thought he left the mound in time but didn't hustle in getting to the base. Pitchers are taught to run to the line then turn so they run parallel to the line to get to the bag. Because he didn't hustle he was forced to run directly toward the bag and on a collision course with the runner. Fortunately he got there in time to get out of the runner's way.
  17. That's a terrible condemnation of the other two.
  18. Is it just my imagination, or does OB sound like he's sick of this game too?
  19. He has a shot at losing 20 this year, and that's hard to do.
  20. I'm beginning to agree with that. DD should be at least kicking the tires HARD on that, finding out what it would take. (And maybe he has. We don't know).
  21. Getting away from this sucky game for a moment... I'm liking DiNardo in the booth. He seems to be comfortable there and has a lot of good stuff to say. Also... I'm appreciating OB more all the time. It seems like no matter who's in the booth with him he develops a quick rapport with them and gets them talking.
  22. Ya, I was typing that just before the HR. LOL
  23. That ball doesn't get way from JBJ like it did from Beni. :-(
