  1. And it would be two actual moves. Of course Martinez wants to play OF and has no desire to DH (per rotoworld), so we would have to deal Bradley. Hopefully he can be dealt for a 1B better than Moreland. It would be ba better hitting team but a worse fielding team. ..
  2. Yeah let's bring back Moreland. Meet the new Sox. Same as the old Sox...
  3. It is a cautionary tale about the status quo. ..
  4. The 2014 Red Sox were basically the same team that won the WSCmonths earlier. Yet 2014 wasn't a wild card season. ..
  5. Not even a minor league contract. The biggest move of the off-season has been the DFA of Henry Owens. Is Dombrowski ok? Are people sure he isn't dead?
  6. Cardinals should move Grichuk next, whose a pretty underrated power bat...
  7. Bill James says the #2 hitter should be the best hitter in the lineup...
  8. The possibility no one is talking about is that Vazquez might be a trade chip. Is there any other reason to hold on to both Leon and Swihart?
  9. The Cardinals gave up two very good prospects. And two other guys...
  10. Winters must suck at your house...
  11. Fortunately for most of you, Dombrowski seems to have placed a high level of concern on your intestinal health by not making any moves this off-season...
  12. Where I live, if your 3 year old dials 911 and hangs up, the police come to your house. Not that I know this first hand or anything. ..
  13. Slow down folks. Boras always says "no" before mid-January. Unless some crazy GM meets all his demands and then some...
  14. Consistent with his criteria? Really?
  15. So what is on the other side of that window?
  16. Not surprised. I'm expecting something along the lines of: Giants get Bradley White Sox get two from Christian Arroyo/Tyler Beede/??? Red Sox get Jose Abreu
  17. The only reason this trade favors Schwarber is ERod's pending surgery and short season. Long term, I greatly prefer ERod over Schwarber...
  18. I like Dunn, but that's the upper limit of Sc hwarber, and he probably never reaches it. More likely he is a LHH Chris Carter. I wouldn't give up anything of value for him.
  19. Schwarber's batting average isn't due to bad luck. It's due to the shift...
  20. LOL The Yankees might not be the biggest spenders on the block for the first time since Kirby Puckett started rolling that free agent ball downhill and their fans are ready to scream back on how its all even now. Of course they'll probably still outspend everyone else again...
  21. Like a fringe prospect like Guzman?
  22. Keith Law calld Guzman a "fringe prospect." Chavis and Groome are "fringe top 100" prospects, even with Groome having very limited action so far. This isn't even close...
  23. I'm losing faith in your ability to evaluate baseball players. Kyle Schwarber isn't very good, despite whatr Cubs' fans think. He's a three true outcome guy who will, until he actually tries to make an adjustment, spend his career hitting into the shift. His ceiling is Adam Dunn. Ceiling. Also, he does not have 10 years of control left...
  24. Per MLBTR, the Red Sox are talking to the Cubs about Kyle Schwarber. This is not a good sign....
  25. But only in the same way that herpes would be a better fit than gonorrhea. I'd rather not have either one, but if someone FORCED me to choose one, and somehow forced me to forget about all the other options. Also if this was a real world case, I'd want neither...
