  1. Not "spot on" at all. Ebbets Field was in the middle of the slum.
  2. Price isn't even showing to be a top level talent this year, let alone 2 yrs from now.
  3. Yet they still out draw the sawx at home............
  4. You don't pay that type of money for a guy you hope the offense will bail out. That's not an ace.
  5. Swing and a miss , Skippy. You missed the point entirely.
  6. Maybe they should claim a fictitious home sell out streak........
  7. Just like the umps are against the sawx!! ☺
  8. Delusional at best. You can't pay that money and justify that performance. I'm a Yankee fan and I know what it feels like.
  9. But you don't give him the biggest SP contract in history for him to be a "serviceable starter". Sugar coat it how you like, but he's certainly not performing up to expectations. Bigger question is, if this is how he performs, will he opt out (probably not), and the sawx are saddled with an albatross contract.
  10. How do you know "he will do better"??
  11. Actually the Yanks had the best record of anyone in the 80's. But you seem to never let facts get in the way. And I have watched the Yanks since the early 70's, so I have no idea about your before the age of 8 comment.
  12. Other than the bullet, Lincoln was having a great night at the theatre.
  13. Baseball wasn't invented 15 yrs ago.
  14. Well, you being a sawx fan would know plenty about being in last place.
  15. As a Yankee fan I'm really going to enjoy watching price play out this contract.
  16. The funny part is he has no clue what he's talking about.
  17. Once again you display that you haven't a clue what you are talking about.
  18. You do realize that your home field is fenway pahk, right??!!
  19. Workload from an early age has plenty to do with it. Here's a good read ....... http://grantland.com/the-triangle/tommy-john-epidemic-elbow-surgery-glenn-fleisig-yu-darvish/
  20. Geez, nobody is arguing that they don't contribute, but they are one of a few factors.
  21. Like I said earlier, pretty much any pitcher is susceptible to arm/shoulder injuries. The human body is just not designed to throw a ball that hard, that often. Sure, good mechanics can help, but there's plenty of guys with good mechanics who have had problems at one point or another.
  22. No, the dense part is trying to defend a guy making $30M+/yr sporting an ERA over 4.50. And given the fact that the Yanks are only a few games in back of the sawx combined with back to back sub .500 basement finishes would indicate you know more about losing being tough on one's psyche than any Yankee fan. Nice try though!
  23. Understood, I'm just saying the chances of him needing another TJS vs a pitcher that hasn't is less.
  24. Wow, some tremendous insight there. Pretty much every team in baseball aside from a select few can claim the same thing!!
  25. I disagree. I know sawx fans are dense, but you can't consider paying a pitcher $30M+ a year to have an ERA north of 4.50 "not part of the problem"
