  1. I was reacting to a line drive off the pitcher's hand turning into a DP.
  2. Giving a good hitting team 5 outs in an inning is a recipe for disaster. Thats an almost unbeliveable 13 unearned runs allowed by Wright this season (14 if Andrus scores).
  3. All that means is this is the last year they can send him down without exposing him to waivers. He can ride the I-95 express every other week this season if the team wants/needs him to.
  4. Bullpen has been worked hard. This is one of those nights where the starter has to take one for the team. This keeps up you may well see a position player pitch.
  5. Someone with your avatar has no business lecturing anyone on lying and cheating
  6. First 2 games were both 3-1, hardly BP. What they really teed off on was the pen. Red Sox starters were decent enough. At least most of the homers given up in this series were to legit home run guys (Abreu, Cabrera, Frazier's got 20) and Lowrie is just a PITA. Yeah Anderson isn't going to be a big power guy but the rest are going to hit their share.
  7. Well, have to catch the rest of this one on the White Sox radio broadcast. At least it doesn't have Hawk.
  8. Book on Hanley right now is thrown it at the bottom of the zone and let him swing over it.
  9. Was that a strike? Gamecast did not have it as one.
  10. JBJ, relax. He has tended to tense up in these situations.
  11. That will have Hawk Harrelson yakking.
  12. PAPI. They'll walk Shaw. No sense in having Bradley bunt with Ramirez batting behind him.
  13. Kimbrel in. Steve Stone on the White Sox broadcast had an interesting graphic Tuesday night. He said the average 93 mph fastball down the middle will look more like a 90 mph pitch to a hitter when thrown down low and a 96 mph pitch when thrown up on the zone. The analysis came in conjunction with analyzing Abreu's double off Kimbrel Monday night on a pitch down and away.
  14. Tied going to the 9th. My prediction, some light hitting Pale Hoser will dink one around the Pesky Pole; hasn't happened yet this series, but it seems to for the opponents about once each set.
  15. Holt should be back in a day or 2. Brentz will come up to fill the slot if Brock needs another day or 2. Shaw's in left as we post, although the way LFs are dropping, not sure I want him out there on anything other than an emergency basis.
  16. Well, given how the 8th has started out, probably doesn't matter anyway. If I'm a starter, let me go 9. I can't do much worse than the clowns in the pen right now.
  17. And against a right hander whose having some issues. The whole team needs to be told no bunting unless it's for a base hit or it's called from the dugout.
  18. Did Bradley bunt on his own or was it called from the dugout? Either way, he should never do it. He is terrible at it.
  19. Does it say something when Clay Buchholz has been your most effective reliever lately?
  20. Nice hindsight. That would be the Ross who gave up a hit and hit 2 guys last night in the 9th last night, right?
  21. Need to keep this going and get a bunch; piecing together the pen for 3 innings isn't going to be easy.
  22. When a team is scuffling, isn't that always the way?
  23. Might not matter how much they hate him. Until Holt is ready to come back, he's the only OF left on the 40 man roster.
