  1. And what happened with ANYBODY trying to cover home? They just let the 2nd run traipse across ... what in the heck was that?
  2. Kimmi, I was sorta thinking the same thing. This has been a tough couple weeks, after it looked like we had turned the corner. OMG, so close ...yet. Is it cuz I'm getting so old that this is so wearing? Or have I come to expect too much? I will have to get out my old fishing tackle. But even that is "catch and release" ... sheeees Now I know why "The Most Interesting Man in the World" took a one way trip to Mars.
  3. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee t
  4. sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. HFX, this series AND the previous one. Farrell is trying his best to get DD fired ...
  6. Disappointing last two series. But tantalizingly close to winning them. Glass half full time. If we can change the outcome of these games by a single run or two, we continue to roll. Eddy and Drew have pitched better ... if that beat continues we can certainly change the final box score... Why not consider that we are about to be able to do that? I know, I know, because we LOST those games. But an error less, meaning on error less, in the right place and the opp doesn't get both big outbursts ... and we win! I am throwing my hat in ... for the get a few more things right
  7. 8-31 in games when we score 5 or less ... if I recall correctly. Ouuuch
  8. You know me, Moon. I rarely state a negative toward "our own" ... I never liked the Tito haters (Tho he could leave guys in too long sometimes). I was long into the season before I wanted BV gone. I cannot understand Farrell, who is supposedly a pitching bon vivant... why does he leave guys in soooooo long? I am fond of the Earl Weaver school of mound management ... get the guy outa there if he ain't got it!
  9. I don't know where this fits in to the overall history of the thread, but I know that since there is a single thread about Farrell another would be looked down upon here. I simply don't know what Farrell is waiting on when it is obvious that his pitcher is losing it. GeezoPete! Three times this week, at least, and this week alone he has left guys in when they should have easily been pulled. Wright has been a pleasure to watch most of the season, but not today. Why leave him in for eight runs!!!??? Earlier with Kelly and Buch ... even Price ... Holy COW! I know the pen is pushed ... but do we have to wait until time after time the offense bails out the pitching and Farrell leaves guys in until it is a hopeless mess! I honestly am sitting here just shaking my head ... what can make this guy pull the plug on someone before we get hit by a tsunami by the other guys? Disgusting.
  10. At some point the FO should surely know that ... we have no dealings with the Albanian Baseball Association ... and the ABA has no official prospects that Keith Law has ever listed .... I mention the ABA because there isn't anyone interested in Japan, Korea or Australia ...
  11. I think that some of the issues with Clay are made worse by the manager. I think ANY use is a waste and an open invitation to watch a good game go south. If Clay is allowed in a game he should be on the shortest leash ever... I honestly feel bad for him but he has no right wearing an MLB uni right now. He is the closest thing to a for sure black hole that I have seen in a while.
  12. Not of CLAY ... hate to say it, Slash but BITE YOUR TONGUE heheh
  13. I don't doubt he is embarrassed. I know the wind didn't help ... when the wind slowed down, he pitched better ... Consistent? I'd like to see him have a great run too. I will have to do some actual digging to see what he's been doing but he has been doing better, most of the time. I'll edit this post if I do the real checking ...
  14. Lester had his tough years and I loved him being a Red Sox ... but his first season in Chicago was not pretty. I do think being Boston has something to do with it ... we are so "supportive" or REALLY not ... intense ... Know what? Look at Cueto ... sucked in KC ... great in SF ... why?? But I think we miss the intangibles on Price. He isn't a di*k, like some of our former players. He has been a source of strength and help for many of our younger pitchers. Apparently there is no help for Clay .... he seems beyond the horizon and totally useless.
  15. Essentially what I'm trying to say...
  16. Your information pool is indeed impressive. Maybe the great ball players will give some of that dough back to the kids...
  17. David will be alright .... Like Porcello .... he'll get his act together
  18. Just shakin' my head .....
  19. Yup .... I had almost forgotten Craig ... Castillo NO CALL UP ... hitting .230
  20. Cleveland DFA'd Martinez, didn't they? Why do WE have him then
  21. And 13 on Clay .... sheeeeees
  22. Just cut him ... I agree. Wash your hands of him ... he is a black hole. It goes against my grain to say stuff like that but all the moves DD has made are thrown into the trash when we keep doing this stupid stuff.
  23. Fire Farrell .... I am finally there ... fire him
