  1. Breaking news... Red Sox Claim Chase d’Arnaud By Jeff Todd | April 27, 2017 at 12:52pm CDT The Red Sox have claimed infielder Chase d’Arnaud off waivers from the Braves, per a club announcement. He had been designated for assignment and, evidently, placed on outright waivers by Atlanta. To clear 40-man space, Boston bumped righty Carson Smith to the 60-day DL. He is still recovering from Tommy John surgery, and it wouldn’t seem as if the placement says much about any changes to his timeline to return. The 30-year-old d’Arnaud represents a utility option for the Sox, who are struggling to cover with third baseman Pablo Sandoval on the DL and second bagger Dustin Pedroia also ailing. Over 262 career trips to the plate at the game’s highest level, d’Arnaud owns only a .245/.317/.335 batting line.
  2. ...He was the most clutch player to ever play the game ... Oh No! You Dih-Ent!!!
  3. How about just parking on top of him with an 18 wheeler?
  4. 1) I said I was kidding. 2) I'd never trade someone because of something like this. I don't even see it as a big deal. 3) I'll trade anyone for a better return.
  5. The weird thing is that Betts was our usual slow starter in cold weather, but he's doing well.
  6. I didn't say move, I meant play our series at TEX in April not June or July.
  7. Papi would have "protected" all these guys and made them better!
  8. nope!
  9. See! Much better!
  10. I think they add steroids to the drinking fountain in the home clubhouse at Yankee Stadium. It's just a theory I've had for years. No proof.
  11. We'd have plenty of "cap space" to replace Pom, and maybe Marco (Holt) could help us avoid needing a new 2Bman.
  12. I'm saying a ranking should be based on runs per game not total runs, since some teams have player 4 more games than others, and it's early in the season.
  13. Exactly. All the good teams suck! (LOL)
  14. Maybe we should lobby to play at TEX and other warmer climes in April next year!
  15. Some teams have players 21-23 games to our 20.
  16. Who was "that one guy" for the Cubs, Royals and Giants-- the last 3 years WS winners? CHI: Bryant (.939)? Rizzo (.928)? KCR: K Morales (.847)? SFG: Posey (.854)? .
  17. True, and we are... 1 game better than the Dodgers 1.5 games better than the Rangers 2 games better than the Cards 3 games better than the Mets 3.5 games better than the Giants
  18. Trade the 3 Ps for one T: Pedey, Pablo and Pom for Justin Turner (Just kiddin!)
  19. I'm a huge "splits guy", but I thought of the same thing last night. I agree.
  20. The ETA on Beni was 2018 as well.
  21. It says, it might not take greatness to make the playoffs- just be a little better than decent. I think we'll end up much better than "decent", but we'll see.
  22. Usually, that's when the best talent is available, but certainly we could do something beforehand, if the offer is right.
  23. As bad as our offense has looked, right now we are tied for the last WC slot.
  24. I still think our offense will end up in the top 5 in run scored by season's end. With Papi, we'd probably be number 1 or 2. HRam has yet to get it going, but if he doesn't, it could be a long season. The money saved by trading Buch could eventually be used at the trade deadline to boost the offense, something few of us thought would even be up for discussion.
