  1. Just got caught up on tape delay. Excellent game by Porcello! Stepping it up! Good to see JBJ coming to life.
  2. Not with spikes up and aimed at your planted leg.
  3. I've always respected you, harmony, but I have to say this is bull crap. Holt reacted appropriately. Kelly's only mistake was to not throw it at 100 mph. Vaz saw what was coming after Austin threw down his bat, and he was slow to protect his pitcher.
  4. I have more respect for Kelly after this than I ever had. I only wish the radr gun hit 100 on the pitch.
  5. Beni deserves a longer look vs lefties than he's gotten at the ML level and his minor league sample size vs lefties isn't all that big either, but certainly he needs to be monitored. 2015 A (short) .827 vs LHPs (32 ABs)\ .990 vs RHPs (92) A (full) .782 vs LHPs (14) 1.066 vs RHPs (60) 2016 A+ 1.069 vs LHPs (32) .945 vs RHPs (103) AA .900 vs L (43) .865 vs R (194)
  6. Okay, if you can't understand what I'm asking, I'll move on. It's not a big deal anyways.
  7. The choice was JBJ vs HRam-Moreland and JBJ vs Nunez assuming they were all hitting equally poorly when the time came to trade one to upgrade the offense. Yes, if we traded Moreland, he's a good fielder; you made your point, but you fail to respond to my point. If Moreland-HRam, Nunez and JBJ are all at .575 in July and you want to upgrade the offense, why trade the guy that most weakens the defense? You are losing the same offense with each guy. Look, I realize it's a hypothetical scenario, but your point was based on the whole team struggling on offense and what to do. Of course, if JBJ is at .500 and Moreland and Nunez are at .650, then I can understand trading JBJ although I still wouldn't under those conditions).
  8. Although it may seem like all I care about is OPS, it's not true.
  9. Yes, but CF is more important than 1B and trading JBJ weakens 2 OF positions not one (LF & CF).
  10. I'd have chosen these options in this order: 1) PH Swihart 2) Leave Holt up- his L-R splits are about equal. 3) PH Beni 4) PH Leon
  11. If you are going to "plan 4-5 days ahead" on giving guys a day of rest, why plan on giving Beni a day off vs a RHP (Tanaka)? Plan on giving him a day off vs a lefty!
  12. I totally agree. Nice touch with the "change-up" comment.
  13. "I had no pain. I have no pain," Price told reporters (via ESPN.com), describing the issue as a lack of feeling in his fingertips on a particularly cold night in Boston. "Even when I came in and did all the stuff with the doctors, I still had no pain." Price said the hand "thawed out" enough to throw a few balls against a wall in the training room after he was examined by team doctors. He was seen in the dugout by the end of the Red Sox's testy 10-7 loss. His next scheduled start is Monday against the Orioles in the Red Sox's annual early start on Patriots' Day. "He's going to come back [Thursday], most likely play catch and go from there," manager Alex Cora said. "But it seems like he should be fine as of now."
  14. If they need Velazquez to start a game, it will be 5 days from now, when Price misses his next start.
  15. I have to say, I disagree with such a plan. I can see, if a player is looking tired, yes. I get the theory of resting guys BEFORE they look tired, but Beni is young, we've already had several days off, we're playing the damn Yankees, and Beni was just showing signs of finding the groove. Not PH'ing Swihart (or maybe even Beni) and going with Leon was sad. Again, I'm not pretending to know more than Cora or DD. I still love the Cora signing. I think there's much more positive with Cora than these few negative things I disagree with, but I think sitting Beni was a mistake. PH'ing Leon over Swihart was another.
  16. Beni finally looked like he was getting in stride last might, then we choose to sit him. Hmmm....
  17. But your point was about what to do, if the team is struggling offensively. That would mean more than JBJ would be doing poorly. For argument's sake, let's say Pedey is hurt and Nunez and Hram-Moreland all have the same .575 OPS JBJ has. Why choose to trade the only one of the three that at least can field?
  18. Sept 2017 plus April 2018 is still a small sample size. Since JBj has had slumps this long before, I'm not worried all that much.
  19. So, if the rest of the team is struggling offensively, too, your plan is to dump the no hit- great glove guy, so we can keep a no hit- bad glove player?
  20. 175 career PAs is pretty small, too. That's one reason I said give it some time before acting on it. (Note: in 2016 at AA, he was .900 vs LHPs and .865 vs RHPs, so maybe the worry is unfounded.)
  21. Yes, that's what funny! Signing JMart magically made HRam, Bogey and Betts get over their nagging 2017 injuries!
  22. What about Darwinzon Hernandez? Danny Diaz (from McFarland, USA) might surprise, but he's far away from the bigs at age 17.
  23. The Yanks are 2 loses away from last place in the AL East in losses. Let's give it to them!!!!
