  1. My guess is Cora sits JBJ 2 games and Beni 1 vs a lefty. I seriously doubt they ask Mookie to play 2B after not using him there for ages. They should have had JD learn some 1B in ST'ing. If AGon can play RF, JD should be able to play 1B.
  2. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have Eovaldi return. I'm just not sure we can afford him.
  3. I totally can see why people have differing opinions on Manny. I also agree with you on Farrell being a great guy. I just don't think he was that good of a manager.
  4. Lots to choose from... Dodgers NLCS Roster with yearly OPS .973 Muncy 1B Platoon .924 Turner 3B .843 Pederson LF/DH? .830 Freese 1B Platoon .825 Machado SS .820 Puig RF .818 Kemp OF/DH? .814 Bellinger 1B/OF .815 Grandal C .807 E Hernandez CF/2B .775 C Taylor LF .696 Dozier 2B
  5. They added CF padding after Lynn broke his back out there. Is it going to take Betts breaking something to make a change there?
  6. Neither did any MLB GMs.
  7. I agree totally, except for Manny. I didn't think he was an attention seeker. I think he was just an immature kid (into his 30's) having fun playing baseball. Some of his antics did garner attention, but I do not think that was his intent. He was a bit of a clown and had his bad judgemtn moments, but he took hitting very seriously. He hardly ever argues with umps or slammed his bat down in disgust after a K. He also was the first to the park more times than not.
  8. That might also support the "over-throwing" argument.
  9. How about making the top of the walls 4 feet thick, with a small plexi glass riser on the fan side of it to prevent any yahoos from climbing onto it? This would not only prevent fan interference, but it would keep players from tumbling into the stands.
  10. As it turns out, Kimmi was right about us "not needing Sale." (Did I just say that?)
  11. Don't count out the Brewers. Tuesday seems like a long way away.
  12. Although Swihart was never used, having him on the bench allows Cora to freely use and move others around. Had we needed to PH for Leon late last night, Swihart may have gotten his chance. With Vaz hitting very well, now. Swihart may not play in the WS, except in a mop-up capacity, if it arises. Lin would offer a nice defensive replacement at 3B and PR'ing opportunities. Unless someone is hurt more than expected, I think we stay the same.
  13. Mainly, who? HRam>> JDM? Farrell>> Cora? (Note: I'm not disagreeing.)
  14. It's by team not league.... best record--Sox.
  15. I just chugged a Coke Zero.
  16. I hope your smiley face shows you knew I was kidding. I wouldn't trade JBJ for a lot of players you can pull up with higher WARs. JBJ has arrived! Past WAR numbers will be shattered going forward. The tough start to the season may be a blessing come arb time.
  17. I've always felt JBJ could hit. I think part of the reason GMs always asked about JBJ was that they felt a tweek here or a tweek there could bring JBJ to life on offense. It took Cora and his staff to snap JBJ into a groove that is now 4 months long and counting. Another key piece of evidence to support my claim that Cora is the best Sox manager of all time.
  18. All year, Cora got the most out of this pen. They certainly had their down times, but they have been outstanding, when it counts most!
  19. Save Sale for warmer climes... Gm 1 Eovaldi (Sale in the pen, if needed) Gm 2 Price (Porcello in the pen) Gm 3 Sale Gm 4 Porcello Gm 5 Eovaldi Gm 6 Price Gm 7 Sale (Porcello & Eovaldi in the pen)
  20. Saying it before the playoffs started is more ballsy. Same with Cora being the best Sox manager. Same with believing JBJ was a hitter (too). (Note: I've got a a lot wrong, too.)
  21. Great point. Certainly the Eovaldi-Pearce duo must be the best two. Here are some players I remember... Jake Peavy? NOT! Orlando Cabrera? Was key to breaking the curse, but... (Cabrera-Roberts might be second to Eovaldi-Pearce)
  22. Just think of what we can get by trading JBJ this winter!
  23. I'll say it again... Cora is the BEST SOX MANAGER, EVER!
  24. I'll say it again.... The BEST SOX TEAM I HAVE EVER SEEN!
  25. Unanimous. All of my alter egos concur.
