  1. Thanks for the blueprint.
  2. Nice hit by Devers- just didn't fall in. JD with the bonehead gaffe.
  3. Yes! c o r d e r o ! Yes!
  4. I was listening to the TB broadcast for a few innings, then tried NESN. I'm switching back. Remy is lost.
  5. Nice K! (Who said K's are overrated? )
  6. He was on our team (5.45 ERA after a decent 2019 with us.)
  7. Exactly. I can't see anybody thinking he'll get over 150 or 160 IP, so we can structure those IP'd in a way where he still gains a year of team control. If we are in the race, this summer, we may choose to value keeping him on the big club all year, even if he does not start more than 20-24 games.
  8. Do you want a blown hold stat?
  9. Not sure: just going by soxprospects.com
  10. I think they still have dreams of 2018. Hoping he can regain. To me, I like Taylor's chances of being good, going forward, more than Brice and maybe even Valdez, but I guess Brice has some dirt on Bloom.
  11. The Yanks already beginning to weaken their farm, even if just by a small increment.
  12. Technically, many vets have "options" remaining, but I think after so many years, you can refuse being sent down.
  13. Perez has no options remaining. Pitchers with options left: Barnes ERod Sale (IL) Brasier (IL) Brewer (not on 26 man) Taylor DHern Valdez Richards Sawamura Whitlock is rule 5 and would be lost, if we sent him down. Ottavino, Pivetta, Andriese & Brice are out of options, too.
  14. Alternative Site news (some old news) http://news.soxprospects.com/2021/04/fort-report-mlb-opening-day-alternate.html
  15. They aren't DFA'ing Richards after one start, so when ERod is back, I think they will. They will also likely gain an extra year of team control by keeping him in AAA for a few weeks. He looked real good, last start, so I can understand keeping him around, but Pivetta & Eovaldi looked good, too. If Perez sucks, tonight, there will be a more heated debate about demoting Houck.
  16. First of all, I wasn't saying it before around 2008-2009 From 2014 to 2017, they only had one season below 77 wins. That's pretty awesome, going from 2008-2020 with just one sub 77 win team. That's one less than the Sox.
  17. Yes, but that does not mean the guy who K's the most batters is the best. DHern would win the Cy Young. I know FIP counts walks, so he couldn't win it, but many pitchers are known for inducing weakly hit balls, while others let up a lot of line shots that don't go for homers, and FIP totally ignores this area. I get why, and I do think FIP has value, but I still think K's are over-rated for pitchers and batters.
  18. I've been saying for year, "Never count the Rays out." Even when they trade their stars, they scrap together a winning team. Why can't we get guys from their management team and do the same here?
  19. I like it, Max! Keep the mojo rising.
  20. Makes you wonder about GMs not using FIP as a gauge all that much.
  21. Of course, low BB and HRs are great, but I think K's are over-rated, yet still valuable.
  22. FIP and xFIP have a lot of merit, but I've never liked how that stat devalues pitchers who consistently get players to hit the ball weakly for outs, often.
