  1. Hiring Bloom was the first step. We should start seeing signs of a difference in the next year or so.
  2. Wouldn't "coddling" be letting Pivetta let up the go ahead HR, here?
  3. IMO Taking out Pivetta was the right move- no matter what happens next.
  4. Yes, in hindsight, it sure looks that way.
  5. Yes and that’s been very few games and years- not 5.5. That’s all I’m saying.
  6. Wow! We found our lead off hitter!
  7. Or a book store chain.
  8. He sucked in 2019 and played in 3 games in 2020. He pitched well before that. That’s not 5.5 years.
  9. If we end up being sellers, Barnes & Ottavino might fetch some nice returns.
  10. Well said. Hardly anyone thought much of Houck, then after 3 starts, he is a stud in the eyes of some.
  11. Looks like working out a kink in AAA was maybe needed. I hope we see him real soon.
  12. Or after the Allstate game.
  13. I’ll be so pumped when Duran gets the call. There’s a good chance he makes a nice impact. I agree on RPer is the likely trade goal.
  14. I don't think we go big splash or go over the tax line. I could be wrong. The big splash is Sale. The little splashes are a few from: Brasier, Houck, Bazardo, Valdez, Seabold, Duran and Cordero. To me, the trade will be to fill a specific need our system cannot cover and will involve a good but not great player wo is overpaid, so the prospect return will not need to be substantial- hopefully just players, Bloom does not see as being a part of the 40 man roster after rule 5 and FA additions (maybe Chavis?) There is also a chance we slide before the deadline and become sellers. This would actually make Bloom's job easier, but this team seems magical, to me, even after an 8-2 loss to the team chasing us.
  15. He's already "lost it" and certainly may never get it back, but it's not obvious he won't regain and pitch well and earn that 2022 option. As or now, you are right, it looks like a solid no. Perez's option looks a little better - money wise and possibility of taking it wise.
  16. Every team and maybe just about every pitcher is "addressing" this, so I'm not sure the Sox are at any less advantage than other teams. Perez and ERod actually looked better than their previous 2-4 starts, so maybe 2 have already begun "re-learning" or the whole sticky-gate thing was not the full reason for their slump.
  17. Maybe Brasier and moving a starter or two to the pen will be all the "tinkering" it needs. Sale and Whitlock or even Houck might be the "shock" the rotation needs, but I'm not sure we can wait that long for the Calvary.
  18. I think he was hurt. Pitching hurt.
  19. The pen needs tinkering. The rotation needs shock treatment.
  20. ...all this without their superstar LF'er!
  21. Gabby freakin' Sanchez, at that!
  22. Our pen has been really good. We just need a little tinkering. Of course, after an 8-2 loss, the clowns come out of the woodwork wanted a compete overhauling of one of the most exciting and surprising Sox teams we've seen in years.
  23. If that's love, who needs hate? I've never heard a Yankee fan hate on the Sox like you do. Relentless & extreme bashing. At least 50 bashing for every half-way good thing to say about a Sox player or employee. And this, during a wildly over- achieving season. The fact that you can't even see the hate you spew is indeed worthy of ignoring as you and several other real Sox fans have suggested I and others do.
  24. At least jacko admits he is not a Sox fan.
  25. We only need a couple minor adjustments. Bye bye Santana and Andriese. Workman & Rios can wait until our injured players return.
