  1. ...and other teams will hit less? LMAO
  2. Sometimes RBIs when you are ahead turn out to be needed, especially with our pen.
  3. So saying you were a Cora hater is now a compliment? Too funny. Dig the hole deeper.
  4. His hyper-loyalty to vets that clouds his decision- making, gives the appearance that he's doing nothing, In a way, he's not. Status quo is fine when it's working. What does he do when it's not working? Then again, we have posers upset at him for trying our too many different line-ups and alignments. When you lose, it seems like nothing you do can ever be viewed as right.
  5. It's hard to know if the best manager in the history of MLB can do much to help some slumping batters. This is not a defense of Cora.
  6. And the bottom 12-15 slots on the 40 sucked.
  7. I edited it.
  8. Not when he had Durbin batting 2nd for 5 straight games?
  9. Well said. Durbin's.... Pull%: 43% MIL> 52% BOS Hard Hit: 27%>32% BB%: 5%>8% It's hard to make these numbers jive, unless you look at LD%: 19%>13%
  10. I used to say Ben has a 5 year plan and lasted 4 years.
  11. No need to: he was handed a highly ranked (over-ranked as it turned out, but he traded the overhyped ones) and solid 40 man roster. When he took over the team, we were just a handful of slots away from greatness. How many slots did Bloom have to fill after the great purge?
  12. I'm not claiming great value. The bar is set very low, here.
  13. I'm talking about keeping up with the topic, and you missed the topic, again. Too funny! 🤣
  14. It has been a carousel... Anthony has led off in all but 3 games- the ones he sat out. The two slot has seen some major shifts, including 5 straight games by Durbin! LOL The 3 & 4 slots have been all over the map. Abreu was consistently the #5, until we moved him up. I'm not sure anyone was against that idea, although he dropped off after the move.
  15. While I agree on the Cora context, we've seen some interesting numbers, so far in SSS: there is a higher need vs LHPs, apparently... and some of the RHBs have failed. v RHB .790 Monasterio .537 Story (Granted, not sitting for Cheng) .552 Durbin .563 Mayer .661 IKF v LHP .143 IKF .229 Durbin .289 Monasterio .512 Story (not sitting for Cheng) 1.000 Mayer (5 PA)
  16. The topic was RBIs, which you brought up. Do try to keep up.
  17. Another lie. Typical.
  18. The 4 killers: 101>31 Durbin -70 106>51 Story -55 102>58 Narvaez -44 142>99 Anthony -43 Others -55 IKF -14 Mayer
  19. Ohhhh. That makes a big difference. Proceed.
  20. Good take on Lou. The fact is, most of us had higher expectations on several Sox players that have really stunk up the place. Of the top 9 in PAs Sox batters, we have 5 hideous OPS numbers: .451 Durbin .529 Story (leads in PAs) .549 Narvaez .571 Duran .603 Mayer Our #3 PA leader is at .686 (Anthony) and two of our 10-12 PA leaders are as such: .412 IKF .544 Monasterio (Can Cheng really be much worse than this?) It looks like #10 Yoshida (.806) might crack the top 9, soon, and maybe Wong (.789) might eventually pass Narvaez in PAs, but there is no guarantee these two are still hitting this well, when and if they do make it top 10.
  21. Great point. I will say that the roster got so bad around 2020, that there was a big need to build up the full 40 man roster and farm system. A couple big stars was not bringing us a ring anytime too soon. Here is a look at the opening day 2021 roster: Nate, Houck, Pivetta, Richards, Perez (Sale & ERod on IL) Ottavino, Barnes, DHern, Sawamura, Taylor, Andriese, Whitlock, Brice, Valdez (Schreiber & Brasier on IL) Vazquez, Plawecki, Dalbec, Kike (2B) Bogy, Devers, Cordero, Verdugo (CF) Renfroe, JD, Arroyo & Marwin AAA had just about nothing very promising, except Duran, Chavis & Downs It took years for Bloom to build up the farm and 40 man roster depth, and some will argue he did a poor job and or that it took too long, especially after he was allowed to spend a little more (Story, Masa, Richards, kluber, Paxton...)
  22. You taking over my role as posting this after slamming me for doing it? Typical.
  23. I love Merloni, and he also said this was going to be Crawford's year, so as you can see, we all gets somethings wrong, except you, of course.
  24. It was a mistake, but it was somewhat understandable, and in light of the shifting philosophy on spending that saw us not bring Kimbrel of Kelly back, or replace them in kind, I think we know what the initial problem was that started all this, and also led to the Betts departure the following winter. The uptick in spending hasn't even got us even with where we were, within the context of how much other teams have upticked their spending patterns. While teams can and do win with a balanced roster, most win with at least a couple bonafide stars or superstars.
