No crickets, here. I'd prefer Whitlock, but both are good enough to start, and both will likely do well as starters. The 2 pitch issue is real. The 3rd time through the line-up is real, but so many starters, these days, are yanked after 2 times through, so it's not such a big deal anymore, to me. If we had a stronger pen, I'd like Houck & Whitlock starting. Also, when we give our opinions, we don't claim Cora & Co. will go with out ideas.

Small career sample size, but DHern has one of the best K/9 rates in MLB history. Too bad he walks so many, too.

DHern has not really been improving in the role he's been given. Maybe changing it up might work.

Fenway's RF is like CF in many parks.

We have no clear closer, so adding him to the mix can't hurt. Many of us have seemed to pump him up way beyond his BTV value.

I'm concerned, too, and a .752 away OPS is not usually someone you pay $23M/yr for, but Story is a very good defender and may hit well enough in Fenway to keep his overall OPS high enough to be more than acceptable. The more I look at his defensive numbers, the more I like him. I had originally really wanted Baez, but I see Story being about equal to him. Maybe my "makes little sense" statement was a bit premature and or hyperbolic. There are some issues with the signing, but it does make sense.

They can likely top Duran, too. According to BTV, two Durans are needed to get Montas.

Montas has 2 years remaining. They may wait to trade him. If we do trade, I hope we get Trivino added to the deal.

I think it's good he made the choice somewhat early. The closer by committee idea may be ripe for this era, but I'm having a hard time thinking it will work. I sure hope the Barnes we see is the first half 2021 Barnes and not the last couple months Barnes.

OMG! It's completely pointless talking to you. How do you get that out of what I said. Where did I say you don't respond to posters or that someone said you don't? Again, you missed my point. I'm fine with anyone disagree with my point, but dealing with someone who can't understand simple points is too frustrating. I had to put Swi back on ignore. I think I'll have to do the same with you, again. (I think I did for a while, last year, too.) Good bye, for now, anyway.
